We visited during the last week of october 2017, the weather was great, there was slight overcast for short periods of time and it rained on the last afternoon we were there for about 30 minutes.
The bumpy (true understatement) ride to the Villa leaves A LOT to the imagination. You begin to think... Where are we going?!?! But then you arrive at the gate and enter into what can be considered paradise. The "Curb Appeal" is breathtaking but then you walk inside, and everything is perfectly staged... The entry way door looks right out into the pool, to the sand and slightly beyond that, the beach. After that I noticed Dragon, the German shepherd and Ginger, the cat, (LOL) both of the animals were lovely and Dragon proved to be a part of the crew.
My friends and i booked the entire villa so we each had our own room. The only complaint that i would have is that room 4, the room which i stayed in does not have a screened door, so it did not allow for any cross ventilation, as all the other rooms had french doors (with screens) allowing for night time breezes and air flow. It is a very safe and homely feel being in the villa.
The staff is AMAZING!!! Really AMAZING!!! Elga, Mkubwa, Michael, Mohammed, Ousna (sp?), Fatima, and all the kitchen staff... The meals were EXCELLENT! They have a variety of menu options to choose from, and they are more than willing to accommodate your requests. My suggestion would be to offer some type of all-inclusive option, so that guests can eat and drink as they please (excluding beer, wine and liquor, but maybe have an additional package for those) and not think about what the cost will be at the end, albeit the cost was well within reason.
We felt like we were on a Caribbean vacation... warm blue water, palm trees, powdery white sand and good music (when we played our own :) ) this location far exceeded our expectations. We had the opportunity to visit the two other properties owned by this group and found this one was more to our liking, as it was like our own personal hotel, it was intimate, as the other properties have a lot more people.
The beach just outside the gate is wonderful. The water was warm, when the tide actually came in, but for a majority of our time the tide was out, which allowed for us to walk out very far into the "ocean". Also we took a moonlit walk on the beach, it was a wonderful experience.
Overall, we could not have asked for a better Zanzibar experience. I highly recommend this location- Uzuri Villa, but the other properties are lovely as well Mwezi and The Loop have the same quality with a "cooler modernized" vibe.
If i ever visit Zanzibar again I WILL be at Uzuri Villa.
Amazing stay. We had a room issue and the owner arranged it for us as soon as she was aware of the problem. The hotel has a beautiful pool and access to the beach, a very friendly dog and amazing staff. The place is welcoming, clean and classy ! Je recommande l'endroit les yeux fermés ! Amazing owners as well as food ! I guess that when Italian owners live on site and eat there, the food must be delicious ;)
Also, in terms of location, the hotel is close to the village, 50 min walking on the beach from Paje (very nice walk) and in a part of the beach that is quite calm.
Our stay in Uzuri Villa was amazing! The staff is so friendly and always prepared to help. I never had such a good service in any other hotel I've been before. The foods get cooked fresh when you ask for it, You can order whatever you like and they do their best to make you a delicious dinner. There are also some other nice places at some beach hotels nearby where you can go for dinner.
The beach is only 50 meters away and the pool is so quiet and refreshing.
The rooms are big and get cleaned every day. They even spray the rooms against insects every day. The staff helps you to arrange excursions or transportation and does good recommandations. It was a terrific stay here! Hopefully we'll be able to come again someday!
Greets to the sweet hotel dog Dragon, all the staff en the owner. Thank you!
Uzerivilla is located in a beautiful spot in Zanzibar. It is very private with a fabulous swimming pool and a great dining room experience. The beach is accessible right outside of the gorgeous tropical compound. My family was treated royalty by a dedicated staff. Rooms are very comfortable and clean albeit not air conditioned. It is a short walk to Paige beach where the wind surfers will entertain you. There are lots of good restaurants in the surrounding area - although there is little incentive to go out when Uzerivilla offers fine meals and great service. Loved it!
Had the chance to stay here with a group of friends and the worst part of our experience was having to leave. Fantastic setting and the house was outfitted to perfection. Ana Maria and the staff were attentive and took great care of us. The food was amazing & the chef cooked each meal to our request. Loved every minute of it and would recommend the Villa to anyone going to Zanzibar.
