We stayed one night at Isandlwana Lodge, from Dec 26th through Dec 27th 2019. A truly memorable experience as we were the only guests that night! The staff was welcoming, friendly and service minded, the kitchen was good and both the location of the lodge and the view is truly breathtaking.Our room was spacious and comfortable and all rooms are thematically connected to Zulu commanders and the battle of Isandlwana.

If anyone is visiting the battlefield sites of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, this has to be the ultimate location for their stay. Set in the cliff overlooking the Isandlwana site, the lodge offers lovely rooms. Almost every one offers a view of the battlefield and surrounding area. The food was superb and the hosts, along with the wonderful staff, couldn't do enough to make the stay a great experience.
Stayed for two nights in November. Such an unusual and interesting hotel with amazing views of the battlefields. Cosy and comfortable with delicious food. A friendly staff and good service. We lived it.
Just spent 3 days at this lovely oasis overlooking the battlefield. Set high above, it affords wonderful views & we were very impressed with the hotel & the rooms with private balcony were delightful.
Shane, Ros & all their staff looked after us so well & nothing was too much trouble. The lodge is spotlessly clean & superb views from everywhere in the hotel on on the wraparound terrace.
We were a little disappointed with the food as felt that there was very limited choices at dinner & poor selection of fruit at breakfast. The packed lunch they supplied was excellent.
To swimming pool was not as clean as I would have liked & it did deter me from going for a swim as it was cloudy & murky. Shane assured me it was fine which I am sure it was just not at all inviting which is a shame.

We recently spent two nights at this charming lodge (19-20 September) as part of our African tour. After a long and tiring journey we received a very warm welcome from hosts Ros and Shane. Our cosy room (number 11 ‘Mbilini’) looked over the site of the Anglo-Zulu battle at Isandlwana, and included twin beds, hot beverage making facilities/ nice biscuity snacks and large balcony. In terms of meals, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here (plus morning/ afternoon snacks) and the choice and quality of the food and drink were all absolutely excellent - as was the service. Our balcony and the lodge’s terrace/ grounds were wonderful places to see many types of birds. The lodge sits at the foot of a cliff from where the Zulu attack at Isandlwana was directed and so was an ideal place for our guided tours of the Isandlwana and the nearby Rorke’s Drift battlefields. We really enjoyed every second of our stay here and this lodge is fully recommended.
Stopped here for lunch whilst visiting the battlefields on a group tour. Coach couldn't get up the drive - too steep, but the walk was fine and worth it.
Excellent lunch, as others have said, great welcome and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. Wonderful views, probably the best you can get to appreciate the whole battlefields site.
Would definitely recommend.
