My perspective is mainly from a hearing aid wearer's point of view. There is nothing to soak up noise in the almost open plan premises . Open doorway and large hatch through to kitchen .
Stacking of plates, putting cutlery in tray, chairs dragging on floor, an upset child, the coffee machine steaming and to top it all when I turned my hearing aids off, which I had to, a loud buzzing interference along a line near the till.
I had a sprung upholstered seat, one of only a few which was fairly comfortable. On a previous visit for their 5 course evening meal I had a hard wooden chair and fidgeted uncomfortably throughout the meal. Maybe the seat would not be a problem for someone taller.
I had an Angus burger with fried cubed potatoes a dessert spoonful of coleslaw and a dressing of salad. It was all a bit dry. The burger patty could have been flatter and of larger diameter to make it easier to eat, particularly since it wasnt juicy.
It was overall not a successful visit although the complementary chocolate after the meal was nice.
Realistically I think the cost is built in to the meal.
