On Arriving the pub looks very traditional and welcoming. We ordered the Roast dinner. 1 lamb and beef.
The lamb was undercooked and the beef overcooked. A shame with the veg as all frozen and watery. Only saving grace was the potato's which were home cooked. Very underwhelming.
Whilst my partner had finished his meal and I was still eating the waitress asked if we had finished . Clearly I hadn't.
The dessert was a very stodgy tastless crumble. Not worth a visit unfortunately. Try the journeys end.

A friendly local pub. Hard trying to get drinks with people hanging around the bar though. Food served from 6.30pm. Quite a good choice. My wife had BBQ ribs and I had Steak burger. Nothing wrong with the meals at all and reasonably priced too. The battered fish looked very good on the adjoining table.
We parked behind the Spar shop but not sure if that was OK or not. We did use the shop before going into the pub.
If in the area I would definitely visit the pub again, but not make a special trip.

Turn up at 2.15 for Sunday lunch without booking for 6 of us, the staff were so polite and very accommodating the food came out piping hot. There was a good choice of meats plenty of very hot vegetables and the Yorkshire puddings were to die for would highly recommend this place a lovely open fire Christmas decorations were amazing too the children loved them.

THE STAFF NEED UNIFORM! On sunday lunch i approached someone asking for mint sauce thinking they were a worker. NO it was a random teenage child! Please sort this, it gives a bad name. The food was medium.

We had been to the Pickwick before on a couple occasions under previous owners, and while the staff are friendly enough, that’s where the good things ended.

The place has zero feels, no atmosphere, feels barren. The decor needs changing asap.
The food was nothing short of awful; on the menu it states the pizzas are thin, crispy and hand stretched to order, as we had had under owners before. But it was clear that a frozen pre-made and store bought base had been used; zero crisp, thick and there was a thing raw layer of dough under the overly sweet sauce. The “homemade” pie was thin and watery, and had kidneys inside despite not ordering the steak and kidney pudding. The scampi were mush, grey and tasteless; the chips were frozen and tasted like the fryer, and the mushy peas tasted like they were straight out of the can.

We politely paid and left but unfortunately won’t be returning while the food or pub is in this state.
