Stayed across the road at Hotel Nagusi and the restaurant at Casa del Patron was recommended. ther was a festival of pintxos across the region and unknown to us until afterwards, the cehef here featured in it. A fabulously presented, inventive, delicious series of pintxos arrived at our table, an absolute treat, and right up there with the amazing variety and skill of San Sebastian pintxos bars. A wonderul treat to find in a tiny village. The chef is a marvel.

This year we deliberately booked this hotel again and made sure we arrived early so we could book in and then drive into the National Park and explore a little. Our room was spotlessly clean and the welcome as warm as last time in good English. We had booked through the website Weekendesk.fr and it was excellent value as it included a dinner of the local speciality Pintxos. This consisted of 4 small dishes and a dessert with wine and water included also. Well worth trying here as they have won prizes. The beds were comfortable, the continental breakfast copious. This hotel is well used by the local Spanish so there is a great atmosphere. Even 4 local policemen popped in for a coffee whilst we were having breakfast.

I was on business in Vitoria and decided to stay in Murgia at this wonderful hotel. It’s owned and operated by two brothers and a sister. The rooms a small but quaint and very clean. The hotel has a bar and restaurants that serves foods with great flavors and exquisite presentations. The staff is pleasant and very attentive to your needs. The hotel is situated in the small and cozy town of Murgia, in the hills outside Vitoria. At night you can smell wood burning in the fireplaces of the typical Basque country style homes all around you. I strongly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and relaxing time; you will be surprised in finding this little piece of paradise.

We stayed here one night en route to Portugal. Murguia is situated in an area of scenic beauty (National Park) and so you could easily spend several days exploring. The welcome was warm and friendly (in good English) and our room was very clean and comfortable with Air conditioning. There is an underground car park available (5 euros/day) with lift access directly into the hotel. The bar and restaurant is well frequented by the local population so there was a great atmosphere. We had a fixed price dinner, 3 courses including wine for 16 euros and it was very good. Breakfast was served in the bar and was a good standard continental breakfast.

Lovely hotel, in a delightful ambience. Very restful, especially with a staff so considerate and happy to be of service. Comfortable rooms, and bathroom with good bath and shower- great bonus. Top quality food, and I recommend the interesting and tasty array of snacks always available. How well they catered for my individual needs, really helpful and kind. I liked the availability of the garage, though the area as a whole felt perfectly safe and secure. All in all, one of my favourite hotels, and I've been to many in Spain and elsewhere. I hope to get there again someday.

Room tip: Just ask to see one or two- staff are always obliging
