This really is one of the most beautiful Villas and settings on the lake. The history, the gardens, the collections and some of the secrecy...all adds up to a fabulously wealthy and most fortunate individual.....who took care of things that came his way and his ambitious desire to conquer the highest of the high...he never made it but, what backing!! 8 or 9 C130's and the Italian army in tow....!
The place is worth a visit and just take in all the beauty of the surrounds as well as the gardens. It's worth it....mind the other visitors though.

Thank Loolew

We caught the Bellagio water limousine to this villa which included our entrance to the villa, gardens and guided tour.
Definitely worth a visit and to do the tour. What an incredible place. So much to see. The gardens are magnificent. The views magical and the house/ buildings are fantastic. Take a picnic lunch if you have time. There is a gift/bookshop that also sells drinks.

We had the most lovely visit today. We took the water taxi from Lenno to the villa for 7€ each return. We bought discounted tickets for the house and gardens with our NT cards (saving of 6€ each from the 20€ combined ticket). It’s a lovely experience to arrive by boat to be greeted by a pretty display of Agapanthus. We walked round the grounds for an hour until it was time for our guided tour (in English). The numbers are limited on the tour (about twenty people). The house is fascinating; and plenty of detail is given by the guide who works for FAI (Italian NT). There are toilets and water is sold in the shop, but there isn’t a cafe.

A lot of disappointed people who don't realised closed Wednesday (also Monday but that is common in the area). Beautiful gardens and house so make sure you go on the right day.

We walked from Lenno and it is a very pleasant 20 minute walk to the villa. You can either pay 10 Euro to see the garden only or 20 to do the gardens and a guided tour of the villa. I highly recommend the tour which is the only way you can see inside. The last owner was Guido Monzino and the interior is like a private museum of his expeditions and art. Our guide was excellent and the explanations and the contents of the rooms were well worth experiencing. The gardens and views are stunning and we were very happy that we chose this villa to visit.
