Been to the other clack sand beach in Kamari and this place is bigger and have more shops. However, we did not come in the height of the season so only a couple of shops are open. Sea was rough when we visited but still a spectacular sight.

I'm really just not into black sand beaches. Somehow they just don't appeal. Unfortunately in Santorini there's not much choice, and so I was generally unimpressed with all of them. During the off season they were all deserted, which didn't really add to the appeal.

The calmness and serenity of the ocean puts a necessary hault to the otherwise racing mind. The black beach in Greece is my favourite beach in Greece. The pristine blue thrown against the black, charcoal colour rocks is a sight to be savoured. .

I'm sure this is a very different venue in summer, however we came in winter so many of the shops are closed and the buses into town are very infrequent. Not a big deal for us as we wanted a quiet, cool vacation but if you're here for Sun sand surf alcohol and a party atmosphere you should wait until summer.
