We missed the ferry to islay and needed a place to stay overnight and we found this place whilst passing by.
It was magical.
The owner very obliging and the lodges were very comfortable and warm.
Really enjoyed our unplanned stay.

So first of all there is no listing for the Ballochantuy Lodges on TripAdvisor and despite listing it as a new location TripAdvisor declined to list.
Part of West Loch Shores, along the coast road to Campbeltown (10 mile outside) offer comfortable self catering lodgings for up to four people over two bedrooms. Well equipped with decked front and side. Easy access to shore front and handy for the Argyle across the road for food and drink. The lodge was spotless. Toasty warm with the central heating on while the wind and rain battered against the Windows. Extremely comfortable and very highly recommend.

Stayed for one night in lodge 1 was excellent and very quiet and relaxing. Our veranda had an excellent view we were just unfortunate the weather was not in our favour. The lodge was lovely and clean. Will definitely be back.

Had the lodge at the top of the hill. Very good quality. Sky Freesat box was a bit erratic but the wifi was excellent. Kitchen could do with a grill pan and an oven tray. But the rest was excellent. Lovely setting.
Only a couple of miles from the beautiful village of Tarbert.
Remember that this part of Scotland is relatively remote- Campbeltown is a good 30 miles away, Inverary about the same in the other direction. The Co-op is in Tarbert, as are the restaurants and shops. So plan your holiday on that basis.

We stayed last week in a hillside lodge overlooking one of the finest views in Scotland with our own balcony in a log xabin with all mod cons , quiet location with access to wonderful hill walks, shoreside activities like boating, canoeing , fishing and osprey watching. Unbelievable, great for families and pets and a short drive from Tarbert where there is every convenience, shops, pubs restaurants etc tourist office .
A must return location. We saw pine martins nearby last week, several deer onsite early morning and my husband caught a sea trout , what's not to like, very well run site, with great access to local ferries to Gigha, Islay , Jura, Arran, and the spa at Portavadie.
