“Lovely hosts, clean rooms and personal touches.”

I cannot recommend this place enough. It was easy to find but just remote enough for peace and quite. The hosts Dorothy and Alan are lovely and friendly - it was pouring down when we arrived and they'd made a fire (real wood fire), placed a jug of fresh milk in the fridge and 6 fresh eggs. What angels! I was this close to asking them if they wanted to adopt us.

The whole cottage was clean! The wife checked the skirting boards and they'd been dusted. Clear instructions about running things indoors (lighting the fire, hot water etc) and they gave us our space but made it clear we could call upon them at any time.

Near Hexham for food shopping but the cottage came with EVERYTHING provided: toilet rolls, paper towels, pots, crockery and cutlery, coasters and table mats, cooking foil, clingfilm, washing up liquid, handwashing liquid. Everything, I tell you. They also provide breakfast I think (there was sign in their window) but we chose to make our.

Lovely lovely lovely place. Wonderful people. We'll be back.

Liked best: The cleanliness.
Liked least: It's the country and insects have the right to exist too. If you're not a fan bring some fly paper or something.
