We really enjoyed dinner here and went back for lunch again the next day. Once in a while we find a great local spot, fantastic food, views and folks passionate about their art. This was it in Lugano.
Food: A combination of traditional cuisine with a modern twist. We had the opportunity to try a number of dishes and enjoyed every one of them. Our favorite was the cooked vegetables in aspic, the carrot flan with cumin and the pasta with peppers. The dishes are prepared fresh to order and the flavors wonderful. Th portions are substantial, we were full after an appetizer and mean. Leave place for the amazing desserts. We were in Lugano for a week, and this was the best food we had in the region, including some of the more expensive places in town (see other reviews). It is well worth the drive out to Gandria for dinner or lunch.
Ambiance: A nice outdoor seating with a fabulous view of the lake. Book early for a seat with a view. They have indoor seating too. The casual and fun atmosphere relaxes you and does not take away for the amazing food.
Service: Outstanding in every way. This restaurant is run by three chefs, and they do everything. She offered to translate the menu into English verbally, and you can tell the passion these folks cook with. This restaurant is a work, very hard work mind you, of passion and pleasure and you feel this radiate for all three of them.
We loved our total experience here, and recommend this restaurant highly. We also wish these three young chefs success in their passion and art.

The food here rates among the very best I have had anywhere in the world. The service is great, and the view can be spectacular. The prices are reasonable. Only small complaint is that it takes a little longer than might be expected for the food to come out, but that's by American standards. We ate there twice last week, once for dinner and once for lunch. Both meals were exceptional.

Fine Italian cooking from a young academic couple. Congratulation! I've been here probably 5 times and always chosen a new dish. Every time a wonderful surprise. Good local special beer. I recommend it.

Read the reviews about the his Restaurant so we took the water ferry taxi to Gandria arriving at 11:15am. Using my Switzerland map on my Phone we walked up lots of stairs (?) as there was no signage, typical. But after 35 minutes of stair climbing and some time to admire the view beauty of Gandria, Church, and many interesting door ways we arrived.

A warm welcome with a great smile. Asked what beer they had and so I was soon at the counter looking at the types of Swiss beer they have. The menus were in Italian but the young lady explained in passable English what was offered this day.

We ordered and it was fabulous. Not just for the local but for all of Switzerland and Northern Italy too.

Picture of the Lunch tells it better than I can. But the views of the Lake were amazing. Had the chance to look in on the kitchen Wow, the chefs though busy smiled and told us in Italian what they were preparing.

Our only regret was in not being able to come that evening.

We will travel again to Lugano just so we can come back to Le bucce Di Gandria.
