At €5.50 per adult this place was really good value. Very interesting and scenic, plus an audio guide included for the price which had some great information about the site and the way life used to be here. Well worth a visit

Having read about this site in the UK I was determined to visit it on our trip to Spain. Well worth it. The site, particularly the Greek section is large but eAsy to walk round following the excellent route in the audio guide which is included in the 8€ admission. This guide is very informative. Easy to visualise it as a large bustling city and port. The uncovered roman remains are fewer but the mosaics here are spectacular andd a real treat to see them in their natural environment. The remaining city walls are impressive as is getting the impression on the size of the forum. The central museum has interesting artefacts. It would be lovely to have a cafe here on the terrace for a half way rest looking over the site to the view of the sea.
We spent 3 hours plus here so it's a full day out. Make sure you use the museum car park as it's easy to park in the beachside one by mistake.

We went to the Ruïnes d'Empúries with no expectations. It is a combination of Greek and Roman ruïnes. We took the audiotour with is at least two hours to walkthrough.

We thought this was really the extra to experience the ruïnes, but it was a long walk, so make sure you take some water/ candybars with you for some energy.

I would also advice to take some headphones. Now you can hold the audio to your ears, but it is easier walking with a headphone.

The information through the audio guides is excellent. Also the meseum is nice, not too big. Parking is cheap and partly included in the museum ticket.

This was very interesting but there is very little shade. The audio guide was great, very informative and atmospheric. The museum offered some coolness about two thirds of the way round with a vending machine for water. Allow a few hours for the visit.
