We spent three nights in this lovely B&B, using it as a base for day trips to Porto ( about an hour), Coimbra (about half an hour) and other nearby sights. The hosts were welcoming and gracious, offering us local wines as we sat by the pool and driving us to a wonderful hard to find restaurant. The breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. And the garden behind the wall was a great place to return to after exploring Roman ruins or hiking in the park at Bussaco.

When we were there, the rooms were a bit damp, and they really do need smaller doorknobs, but these were minor inconveniences in the very enjoyable days we spent at the end of our Portugal tour.

We stayed 6 nights, aiming for a mix of relaxation and interesting day trips, and found this was the perfect place. The quinta is quite suitable to stay 'in' and relax - whether in the pool area/garden or sitting in the comfy chairs on the spacious veranda. Most afternoons our host would offer a glass of wine and a friendly chat. There is a common area where you can make nespresso coffee or get a cold drink (or keep or prepare your own food), free of charge.
Breakfast is excellent, including fresh orange juice, eggs to order, and home made jams.
Rooms are fine, nothing fancy but spotless, with comfortable beds and a good spacious shower.
Quinta de Lograssol is also a good base for a variety of trips to Coimbra, Conimbriga, Bucaco, Viseu, Aveiro and Serra da Estrela.
Mealhada doesn't have a lot to offer but nearby Luso is nice (including restaurant Pedra de Sal).
Very much recommended, and thank you Cristina, Pedro and Carla for a perfect stay.

We fell apon this gem of a guesthouse and we could not believe how lucky we were.

We arrived and was greeted by Carla who is a local girl with a desire to make everything as perfect as possible, even though we were only there for 1 night.

Mde Christina wh is the owner was also on hand to make sure that our every need was taken care of.

The house and the rooms are big and beautiful, modern and have all the facilities and amenities that you not find in many hotels of a supposedly 4 & 5 star..
You can sit outside in the large varanda, you have a dining room and cooking facilities that match any moden kitchen with all the utensils available.
We were a group of 3 couples and this suited us perfectly.

A large and varied breakfast was waiting for us in the main house's dining room and it was freshly cooked and so tasty

If you are there in the summer you can make use of the swimming pool and the large well kept lawns and enjoy a glass of the local wines.
BTW the bottled water and beers are included. - what more could you ask for ??
Parking is on the spot and is free.

We have only one regret and that is we did not stay for longer.

Thank you ....WE really hope to visit you again , soon.

Room tip: all are good

We were lucky to stay two nights in this beautiful quinta. The room is spacious, the service excellent ( with in the late afternoon a good glass of white wine offered), a huge and tasty breakfast. The host even took us by car to Coimbra!! Also good situated for visiting Bucaco and Coimbra. You can do it by train from Mealhada....

Mealhada itself is nothing to write home about but Quinta de Lograssol provides a superb, relaxing base midway between Lisbon and Porto. The attractive old university town of Coimbra is an easy train trip from the station at Mealhada if you don't want the hassle of parking. The accommodation is superb: simple, but high quality rooms, tastefully decorated, with lovely guest kitchenette, dining and lounge facilities. Beds are comfortable, showers are excellent as is the breakfast. Hosts Christina and Pedro could not be more hospitable or helpful: not only did they welcome us with a glass of local wine in the terrace, but they gave us great advice about local restaurants so that we enjoyed some wonderful meals. The environment is calm and attractive. We recommend stopping here if for no other reason than to experience the hospitality at Quinta d Lograssol.
