I don't give five stars just because of the bathroom, everything else was five stars. If you have difficulty in doing stairs, be aware that there are some stairs up and down to reach the rooms area. Thank you to the staff that was always ready to help.

Room tip: The rooms are great, nice and clean and the air conditioning worked very well too. Room with good size and with a nice balcony overlooking the street and the castle of Arraiolos. The toilets are a bit small, there is no light on the mirror and nothing to hold yourself in the bath (in case of slipping). Also very little space to put your necessaire near the wash hand basin. Overall it was a very nice stay.

Good bed, good breakfast, welcomed with coffee, tea, and local liquor as well as fully stocked honour bar. Held our gear for us for a day as well. Nice candle lit sitting area for down time. Blah, blah, blah (my review was not long enough)

Our stay at Casa do Platano was quite disappointing, unfortunately. Our expectations were high due to the photos and great reviews. The pool and bedrooms seem quite larger on the photos than they actually are. We requested a double bed on Booking (traveling as a couple) but were given a room with two separate beds that couldn't even be put together. If you go with your partner don't go to room Turquesa.
If you expect to sleep in that might be a problem as the curtains let a lot of sunlight in and you start hearing noise from the hallways before 9am.
At check-out, we were told we had to pay cash as the card system wasn't working. It would have been nice to know that in advance, to avoid having to walk to an ATM machine.
On the bright side, the staff are very nice and helpful, the house is clean in general, nicely decorated. It's nice to have a pool, especially on a hot summer day. The breakfast is also nice.
Overall, we managed to still enjoy our stay and relax. However, it's a bit overpriced for what is offered.

We arrived at Casa do Platano after a 70km bike, very hot and ready to relax. We received a very warm welcome, offered a fresh lemon drink and shown to our room, all in a very relaxed yet professional manner. Our room was delightful with all we required. It also had doors opening onto a balcony. The style and decor of the place is just beautiful, it has a very peaceful and tranquil ambience. The choice for breakfast was fantastic just what we needed for another day of biking. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Located 1 hour from Lisbon, Casa do Platano is an obvious choice for a couple looking for a relaxed and quiet weekend away from the city. Small village, great food, a stunning castle and several attractions nearby make it worthwhile.
