A wonderful holiday, mainly due to the hospitality of Leonardo and Eva, the hosts of Villa Guilliana. They truly couldn't do enough for us - making pizza, offering us fresh fruit when we came in hot and tired, collecting us from the airport, keeping a fridge stocked with water and juice - their kindness was unlimited. The house itself is beautiful. We had rented all three rooms, which was the entire top floor of the property, so it felt very private. All rooms had air conditioning and TV, and were very pretty, and the master bedroom had a gorgeous dressing room and ensuite, together with a delightful private roof terrace. There was also a pleasant well-tended garden and a great pool! The location was also fantastic. Ten minutes walk to the train station (40 minutes to Rome, very regular trains.). Alternatively, if Rome every day is too much (our children range from fairly young to teenagers) then it is a five minute bus journey to Anguillara, a lovely medieval lakeside village. The lake is beautifully clean for swimming and has a range of activities for kids - pedalos, inflatables etc. The Villa is a great choice for families (or indeed anyone) who would like to enjoy the splendour of Rome with some traditional holiday chilling. Much more characterful than a hotel and it would be hard to find more welcoming hosts than Eva and Leonardo. You won't be disappointed !
