Myself and my 2 sons (10 and 13) spent a lovely couple of hours here. Great place to visit if you like history

Even though it was very hot on that day and there isn’t much shade on the main ruins, it is a place really worth seeing. For anyone who is interested in ruins and old cultures, I found it very interesting. Unfortunately there isn’t much of information there, but the guided tour is recommended.

And on a hot day, you can almost walk to the beach.

You will have to use your imagination, unless you take the tour the information is limited, but the different building styles can be seen around the site. Worth a stop, also the nearby beach is very nice.

We visited here on our second to last day and it was disappointing. We didnt really know what we were looking at as there was no information when going around the site.
I made the mistake of only carrying 2 small bottles of water, which we had to ration as they do not sell any water or refreshments at the site, which is a good 10 minutes walk from anywhere. We paid 8 euros in a taxi both ways and 6 euros each for entry, even though we had 2 senior citizens with us, and they would not accept the senior citizen rate as we did not carry our passports on the day.
The children did go in for free, but we were quite disappointed to be honest.

One of the fine archaeological sites in Crete with a lot of history. Just outside Malia 5-6 minutes drive.
