This is my 8th stay a this lovely family run hotel just a 5min walk from the old town with its fabulous restaurants. Idea for families with older children and groups not looking for the party scene. I would suggest a hotel on the ‘Mail Strip’!

The rooms this year have been completely renovated in the ‘Mini Suite’ Category.
I would definitely suggest bagging one of these rooms.

The breakfast is served outside by the spacious pool area with luxurious sun loungers ( padded, wide and wooden!).

Will be again soon!

Thank you again

There is nothing special at this hotel, an average hotel , almost clean rooms, under dimensioned parking ,very poor breakfast with strange taste food. Only good thing is that is far from noise of the city. Never back again.

Great hotel away from the main hussle and bustle of Malia.

Lovely friendly staff who were super friendly. A little way out of the town, but a pleasant walk up the hill to escape the town.
Good sound proofing and aircon in the room, which enabled you to have a good nights sleep along with spacious and clean rooms.
A short walk away from Malia and some very pleasant restaurants if you search away from the main strip. If you are wanted some amazinging Cretan food. See some of my other reviews for those.

Overall I would go to Notos Heights again

Myself and my partner stayed here for a week and we were very impressed with the hotel. I would like to say firstly a big thank you to Nasia who was absolutely amazing. We arrived fairly late but someone was there to take our luggage to our room and Nasia chatted with us and briefed us about everything. She thoroughly went through the map with us an explained where was good to eat and the best beaches etc. Throughout the holiday Nasia was amazing with giving us tips and advice on how to use the public transport. A big thank you to Nasia!

I have to say the pool is the most amazing thing about this hotel. Beautifully lit up at night with above average sun loungers. Not the basic uncomfortable ones you usually get in hotels but proper comfortable loungers with cushions and a headrest. Very impressed. You didn't need to rush out in the morning to reserve loungers, there was plenty and the pool area was never overcrowded. The pool itself was a lovely temperature and never too busy. The hotel provided some rubber rings and books and suncream should you require it.

The room was basic, we had a ground floor room which was very convenient. It had a sink and a fridge which was useful. You had a safe and air con (which you didn't need to pay for). The air con wasn't amazing and you couldn't leave it on when you left the room as the key had to be in for it to work - but like I said, we didn't have to pay for the air con or the safe so it did the job! Bed was comfortable. Shower didn't have any sides to it which meant the bathroom floor would get really wet and it was hard to find the right temperature. The room was very clean and it had everything you need. Happy with the room.

We were on a bed and breakfast basis and ate breakfast at the hotel every day. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10:30am I believe and was very nice. Had plenty of cereal, yoghurt, toast, fruit juice, cheese, ham, pancakes, and some traditional greek dishes too. Couldn't fault the breakfast.

The location bothered us a bit. This hotel is located in Malia which we found to be solely suited for the young party-goers. This hotel is far away from the strip, (about a 15 minute walk) and very quiet so that's not an issue, but apart from the strip there really isn't much else to do in Malia by night. As a couple, we didn't want a partying holiday which meant we had to visit nearby Stalis, Hersosinnoss and Agios Nikalos which was more suited to our needs with shops aplenty and restaurants and bars. You can walk to Stalis in around 30/40 minutes but need to get the bus or taxi to the other places. The public transport was amazing there and very cheap. Around 3.60Euro return to Hersonissos by Bus and a little more to Agios Nikalos.

The hotel is at the top of a hill, but it really isn't that bad, you get used to it! There's a supermarket half way down the hill which is convenient. Decent views with the sea in the distance.

The nearest beach is Malia beach at the end of the strip, but we walked a little further (30 minute walk) to Potamos beach which was beautiful. Clear blue warm waters and plenty of sunloungers (we paid 7Euros for 2 sunloungers for the day) but you could also just pop your towel down and sunbathe for free on the sand.

We had a wonderful time at Notos Hotel & Suites and would recommend it to others. It's a good base for exploring other parts of Crete and the hotel is definitely one of the best in Malia! This is a very good hotel. Thank you for making our stay wonderful! Would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Ground floor room is good. Rooms aren't as advertised on the website - much more apartment-like - shame, but not a big deal.
