My wife, her family and I enjoyed a weekend at Moonriver Bush Bungalows last weekend. It was as the pictures on the website, and more in terms of being in the middle of the Waterberg bushveld. The three bungalows were well split up, just far enough for privacy, yet within walking distance of the main kitchenette / lounge lodge. Our bungalow (named Safari) was clean, with crisp white linen on the beds, its own open-plan bathroom, living area, rock pool, overlooking the valley below. We had our own kettle, bar fridge and basic tea, coffee and sugar with crockery supplied, although you have to bring your own milk. The main kitchen was well catered for. There was wood available at the fire places (of which each room had its own indoor fireplace which would have been fantastic on cold nights). Everyday a servant cleaned the main lodge, not our rooms which was ok by my standards as we didn't spend any time in the room besides at night and in the morning. The only small down-side was the lack of game, although we did see zebra, impala, nyala and the like. I'd highly recommend Moonriver Bush Bungalows to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away, especially with friends as it's best enjoyed with people you know, I'd reckon. Thank you.

Room Tip: The Safari room had a fantastic 180 degree view of the valley.

the accommodation is delightful. Lie in your bed and see the sky above and all around you with no light pollution - it's stunning. The bungalows have glass on the sides and front. Take your shower looking out into the bush. The main lodge has everything you need - well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, large spacious dining room and a fabulous deck looking out over the beautiful views.

We had a lovely stay at Moonriver Bush Bungalows. The bungalows and lapa are even nicer in real life than in the photos and everything has been designed with great attention to detail. The guest house could easily accommodate ten people - even more if kids don't mind sleeping on couches. There are three bungalows - one with two double beds and two singles, one with a double bed and a sleeper couch and one with only a double bed. They all have beautiful bathrooms and views. Older guests might find it a little hard to navigate the paths to the bungalows, as they are about twenty or thirty meters from the main lapa.

The main lapa is huge with two big fireplaces and a massive kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen and the rooms are cleaned every day. There is a loft with a tv and another single bed. The view from the deck are absolutely gorgeous. There is a big swimming pool, but all the bungalows have their own tiny pools, also with views over the valley.

This place is all about the fantastic accommodation and a view that must rank ammongst the finest. Forget about the game (there arn't much). Forget about birding. Get ready for great accommodation, a fantastic view and some interesting walking trails - you have to get some exercise! It is so quiet that the fridge motor can be heard 15 meters away!

Some tips: Take your own charcoal - the wood provided wasn't dry enough and from an inferior species. Safari unit is the best.

I would recommend this establishment to anyone that is looking for a peaceful getaway. This place is ideal for lying next to the swimming pool and reading all day. From every room there is the most amazing views, even when lying in the bath you are surrounded by the beauty of nature. We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: All rooms are spectacular!
