It’s only a few hours away from Seoul. We took a bus from East Seoul bus terminal to Jangpyeong, then a taxi ride to the Elf (it costs around ₩13000-16000). For those who have strict diet or aren't used to korean food, please make sure you bring enough food from Seoul or buy them in Jangpyeong (a supermarket and a butcher shop nearby).

Elf pension is a beautiful place for those who enjoy the quietness. Very isolated and yet very peaceful. Heating floor and a well-equipped kitchen made our stay wonderful.

They also offer to clean the room if you leave the key at the reception, and they require you to do the dishes and take out the garbage on your last day.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and we went to Phoenix Park for skiing every day. On our first day, we rented ski and clothes from the rental shop the Elf Pension recommended only because the rental shop provided pick-ups to/from Elf and Phoenix Park. However, the experience wasn’t that good as the clothes and equipments are so old so the next day we decided to rent from somewhere else.

I strongly recommend that you rent from the rental shops opposite the Phoenix park as they offer better service with cheaper price and the right attitude. Taking taxi to Phoenix park would only cost ₩10000-13000, and you can ask the rental shop to call taxi for you when you are done.

Last but not least, the staff is helpful and very nice! We definitely would go back again!

This resort is up the hill and is accessible by 2 different route. We only realised it after our car is stuck on the slope (ie, slippery). The kind staff drove down and guide us by other route. We had the wooden chalet. Each structure 2 to 3 units.
The flooring come with a heater which is a welcome relieve for us as it was snowing during our stay.
Breakfast is complimentary and is sent to our doorstep. Buffer dinner is available with a few sides at 7000 won per pax.
There is a convevience store and they do provide BBQ stuff for guest.
Loved the balcony view of seeing my kids playing the sleige down the slope.

we stayed here for 2 nights. Whilst it's not totally close to the big ski resorts in pyeongchang, it's pretty self sufficient with its own sledding area for kids, small zoo, small swimming pool. If u want to stay a day or 2 without travelling too far out, then it's fine. We came during heavy snow, so it's worth making sure that u have a 4WD to be able to drive in to the resort. If not, some of the routes can be really slippery. the hotel staff are really helpful though and came out to help us drive into the resort as we were not very skilled driving in the snow.

Spring....no snow. Same Place: Elf Pension, Elf Resort & Spa, Forest Healing Resort and Spa- very confusing . Two distinct types of property- the gothic concrete and wood chalet. We booked Forest Healing Spa one night and Elf Resort and Spa the other but same place (Elf Pension) and no spa or hot tub but some rooms have private spa baths. Offered the Gothic building which had a single room not anywhere close to 40sqm or anything like the picture. Asked for the chalet which we thought we had booked as it was in the advert picture. Both rooms had cooking facilities but the chalet had a separated cooking dining TV area and small separate bedroom. There was no sofa so could not watch TV comfortably. Otherwise the chalet was very nice and clean not so the concrete kiddy room crammed with toys. Loved the crisp sheets. Complimentary breakfast - pick up from kitchen or have it dropped in -
vego can only have either the pumpkin soup or toast jam and orange ade. Meat eaters have more options. No coffee........There is a coffee shop down the road about 1.5km walk or 2.7km to Paris Baguette. There is a store on the property (with beer) and the Phoenix ski area is a 2.7km walk down the road with eateries etc. The resort is children oriented with playground, nature walk (pool must be for summer only) and even a small zoo. BrManagement picks up from the Phoenix bus stop on arrival (bus from Soeul to Changpyeong). But you have to get own way back to free Phoenix bus to take you back to Changpyeong terminal. A great long weekend there with rustic setting and rural outlook. Too much road work and building going on so dusty and noisy right now.

So this place have an excellent service with English speakers, tho distance from the hotel to the sky world is 5 minutes by car. The hotel will supply free transportation any time go and back. After you'll finish to surf and you will be very tired, you will glad to realize that the room flor is heated!
