This hotel became one of the favorite hotels I have stayed. We were there a couple of weeks ago. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staffs. Many of the staffs were quite friendly and helpful. We experienced two great evenings here, which became some of our pleasure time.
The pool was enjoyable and big enough to swim and have fun with your friends. There were various delicious dishes for breakfast, only one thing the coffee was cold and hopefully they would serve some more local and tradition food.
As a four star hotel, the cleanliness was impressive not only inside hotel compound but also outside, especially at the beach. And most importantly, the location could possibly one of the most beautiful beach parts with clear & beautiful water.

Room Tip: Higher floors are nicer for view.

I was here two times. First december 2017 and january 2018 each time five nigths. I like this hotel verry much. The staff is verry nice and helpful.
Second time i was there i was sick one night from eating somthing bad at a other hotel. I could not stand up the next morning. The manager took me to the klinik and the staff bring me tea and bananas. For dinner they cooked a special soop for me. They were all looking after me.
On the end I did not have to pay for all the extras.
Thank you Jade Marina Team. If I ever go back to Nagpali it will be your hotel. :)

…it was professionally managed.
We saw this resort being built some years back and subsequently stayed there a year ago, we were impressed and submitted a positive review and we looked forward to our return visit-------- but what a disappointment.
It has so much going for it but has gone downhill badly in two areas-all due to poor management.

F&B
• Filthy unwashed place mats reused for breakfast every day, torn and with food stains on them. It was so unhygienic that guests resorted to cover them with paper napkins.
• No consistency in food preparation or service presentation. One day half a bowl of soup, next day a full bowl spilled onto the serving plate. Sandwiches with no filling one day, full the next day.
• As the coffee has to come from the kitchen 100 yards away it was invariably cold so we, and others, stopped ordering it.
• Fresh pasta ruined as the meat was dry with no sauce.
• Continuous complaints from guests on delays with orders and cold food.
• The hotel is owned by Red Mountain Vineyard. The owners would be appalled by the wine by the glass offering-a White sweet Muscat from the dregs of the bottle and a Red Shiraz, from a bottle two thirds empty from a fridge-cold, old and undrinkable!

It is no fault of the serving staff, who are smiling, helpful and willing but spend their time apologising.
We gave up eating in after two days and, like other guests, ate at one of the many nearby restaurants were the food is hot, fresh and consistent. And where the wine by the glass is fresh and properly stored, cheaper, and in larger glass’s.
We also had lunch next door at the Aureum, beautifully cooked and presented and the European Manger and Chef were very much in evidence greeting guests and ensuring service levels were kept high.

One positive-the breakfasts are very good with a wide offering of hot food, yogurts, fruit, breads, cakes and an egg and pancake station. No faults there.

ROOMS
• The kettle plug would not fit into the socket next to the coffee/tea station. Housekeeping provided an adaptor but one had to unplug the fridge to use it and it was so wide it knocked the on switch off. For our stay we had to plug the kettle into a floor socket by the bed.
• Three of the four curtains were off part of the runners.
• Safe not bolted down-anyone could put in under their arm and walk out with it.
• The “designer” stone pump action dispensers for shampoo etc are useless. You have to take the pump off and pure the contents out as they are too thick to be pumped. All this in a dim shower.
• All the light bulbs are low watt and housed in dark wooden shades which makes the rooms, especially the hall and bathroom/shower very dim.
• Upkeep and maintenance is very poor. There were white paint foot prints all up the stairs in our Villa.
• Turn down is haphazard. Ours was missed alternate nights.

Not all is bad-the housekeeping staff are very efficient, helpful and smiling. The beds are comfortable with good bed linen and the towels fluffy and the water is piping hot and the air conditioning quiet and efficient.

This resort hotel could be one of the best as it has:
• The best position on a rock free beach
• Good comfortable sun loungers and fluffy beach towels
• The best infinity pool on Ngapali Beach
• Cheerful, smiling and willing staff
• The most wonderful tropical gardens, beautifully maintained by a squad of diligent workers (Perhaps the Head Gardner could take over the Management of the hotel?)

However, the management is woeful-who ever they are-we never saw one during our stay. All the problems we encountered during our visit could be quickly sorted by professional management who need to motivate and train their staff.
Having read the reviews on Tripadvisor, and the many booking sites that are available, it is apparent that my comments are mirrored in many other reviews.

If action isn’t taken the Jade Marina will drift away to become yet another tired hotel and certainly will not attract clients who pay $350+ in peak season
It needs an International hands-on professional resident manager.
It’s competitors Amata, Sandoway, Ngapali Bay, Aureum, Bay View and the new Prestine Mermaid all have International management and they are streets ahead, in service levels, of the now sad Jade Marina.

I know where I will not be staying next time…

This resort is located on a best part of Ngapali beach and looks very pretty from the outside.
However rooms (villa) is very outdated and even dirty.
For $310.00 a night (huge price tug for Myanmar) we've got 2 storey beach front villa with old plumbing, wiring and furniture, stinky pit with standing water on backyard and most unfriendly and ignorant staff we ever met in any country.
I don't want to go into details (other travellers already mentioned and we should listen), but this place could be the best on the whole strip if managed properly
Unfortunately, it doesn't

We stayed at the Jade Marina Resort for 3 nights in an upgraded room. We were sad to leave as in many ways it is an idyllic spot. The resort is right on the beach. The grounds are beautifully laid out and maintained. It is a joy to meander along the boardwalk paths. The pool is one of the most interestingly designed pools we have ever seen. With its infinity aspect towards the sea, it is so pretty. However there are only 6 loungers around the pool, though there is room for more, there was strong competition for a pool side spot. There were plenty of big, fluffy beach towels available.
Our included buffet breakfasts were very good, with a wide range of foods available. During our stay breakfast was initially held in the main reception building, with an open air view to the pool. It was a lovely setting. Subsequent breakfasts were moved beachside, an even greater pleasure! We had lunch beachside once; the food was good and the setting divine. However we found out later that the prices were 2 to 3 times more expensive than the beach side open-air restaurants a short walk away.
The staff were very attentive. Our requests for extra towels or different sized flip flops(for the wet bathroom floor, as there is, as usual in Myanmar, no shower curtain) were attended to quickly. When we reported that our fridge did not work, it was fixed right away.
Wifi was slow in the room, but it did work, if one was not in a hurry. Wifi reception was substantially better in the lobby. The airport transfers were quick and efficient.
The beach was outstanding. Clean, soft, white sand that went on and on! The water was clean and blue and very swimmable. There were many more loungers, with side tables and thatched sun shelters, on the beach but there was still a need to get up early to claim one, unless it was a cloudy day.
We were surprised that our room was considered an upgrade until we saw where the basic rooms were located. They were stuck at the top end of the resort, quite close to the road, which would have been less than desirable. We were disappointed in our ground level room, described as Executive Deluxe. There were some positives to it though. The room was large, with 2 beds. The 4 pillows, the bedding and the beds themselves were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. There was a large flat screen TV and a good selection of TV channels. There was a desk and chair and 2 easy chairs plus a table to read and have tea at. There was a kettle with coffee and tea supplies. There was a large wardrobe for clothes storage. The room itself was well appointed, with cozy area rugs on the beautiful wood floor. The bathroom was large and there was some counter space for toiletries. A variety of complimentary toiletries, except lotion, were provided. There were good quality white towels and even face cloths. There were bathrobes. The 2 headed shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water.
However, and here's where this resort loses a 5 star Excellent rating for me, the room smelt both very musty and stinky. We complained immediately to reception, hoping to get an unsmelly room. They sent someone who scrubbed the toilet awhile with a variety of cleaning products and left us to it. This cleaning did not take away the sour sewer smell that perhaps came from the floor drain beside the toilet. Keeping the front door open periodically to freshen the room did little as the drain seemed to continually discharge its odours.
Also, the room was designed motel style, with the window at the front, where people strolled by. So, if one did not want people staring in, the room was plunged into gloom. If not for these issues, I would love to return!
