We stayed here 4 years ago and loved it. But this year, we were saddened at the decline of this little hotel. The room was shabby. The restaurant was not as active and less than interested staff served us. I had read about rats here but was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, there were mouse droppings in our room and midway through the night we were woken by a rustling sound as a mouse chewed through a plastic bag in which we had sealed bags of pickled tea leaves.......vacuum packed!
The mouse then crawled up the wall, over the windows and through his hole in the ceiling. We could hear other mice scampering around over our heads. The one we saw was huge...almost the size of a rat.
Disgusting. Needless to say we checked out next morning with no apologies from staff.
Please do not use this hotel. Hopefully the owners (are they the same as 4 years ago?) will renovate and clean up this dump!! On top of it their prices are outrageous for what they offer. Dirty bathrooms, moldy floors, ants everywhere. Not worth the price.

Room Tip: Even the upper floor beach view rooms are bad.

We decided at 10 a clock at night to another hotel as it could be dangerous for our health to sleep in a place like these. To be honest when we saw the toilet and the mould we felt worried but it was a detail to wat we found when we opened the bed...
It only got worse when I asked them to change the bed linen and saw the mattress... And then under the mattress I have never seen anything like it.
They rip you off make ridiculous excuses don't sort out anything and probably tomorrow put someone else to sleep there. There were traces of rats under the bed when we lift the mattress as well...
Be careful with these place specially if traveling with children!

Beautiful setting for the hotel right on the beach. Our room had a balcony which was lovely to sit on if you didn't fancy going to the beach. We had a simple room with a garden view and was only a couple of minutes from the beach. The beds were fine and had a mosquito net and the bathroom was a wet room as with most of the hotels we stayed at in Myanmar. The room was clean. We hired bikes from the hotel and cycled to the main town - the bikes were fine, a little old but not dangerous. Breakfast was fairly standard. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that as we went exploring most nights. There is a lovely bar on an island very close to the hotel that we frequented during our stay. We used the sun loungers most days and they were mostly fine, although some needed a bit of repair. It was nice to be provided with beach towels that you returned at the end of the day. There was wifi however I did feel it intermittent and not always received in our room. For the level of hotel we found this adequate for what we were after - most of our days were either spent on the beach or exploring the area so didn't need anything more than a basic hotel.

I love this place! All crew very nice and helpful. They speak good English as well. Rooms are simple but very clean. Nice restaurant maybe bit more expensive than one in the town, but food good! If you are looking for a nice peaceful place with great beach do not look any further

Collected by friendly staff from airport, greeted with a glass of pineapple juice. First room a little noisy as near Cockrill, so moved to first floor for extra 5$ a night, quite basis but clean, lovely staff always smiling and even have a pet rabbit! Right on the beach a lovely relaxing affordable stay - would recommend!
