Driving on the Grand Loop Road is always a treat! Never know when one might see elk, eagles, antelope and other wildlife. The wildflowers are fabulous! Please drive carefully so as not to harm the wildlife. Make sure you start with a full tank of gas.

The Grand Loop Road is the 'Figure 8' Road through Yellowstone Park. It's 142 miles long. It takes you to all the features and geysers you want to see.
Mammoth Hot Springs Entrance is at the north, and Grant Village is at the south.
The road is well maintained and kept up and is open through-out the year.

Unless posted lower, the speed limit in 45-mph. It is easier to go faster, but people and animals are all over and bison do not respect man's highways.
Plus, you will want to get out of your vehicle and actually see some of what you are driving by. The National Park Pass makes reentry easy, so it is OK to take your time, and enjoy the drive.

And the final end of the route there was one bear with two kids on a far away boring distance. Better go to the zoo if you want to see a bear. Even buffalo was few. We counted three.

Yellowstone is a must do for anyone and everyone. There is so much to see and experience in the park. I took my family for five days and it was not nearly enough time to see and do everything. Living in Yellowstone a lifetime is probably not enough time to experience the park. Yellowstone is a really a wonder from the animals to the volcanic activity, geysers, hot springs and wilderness. This park is Mother Nature at her absolute best and one of the most beautiful areas in all of the world.

We experienced moose, elk, mule deer, buffalo and fantastic views on this road! You feel like you have left all the busy behind and got present in the moment on this vacation!
