We had some difficulty going to the restaurant. When I checked online I found different hours for the restaurant. One site said closed for day, other said opens 5 PM. We called and it said it opened at 5:30 PM. By happy chance we drove passed the restaurant and it said open and it was about 5 PM. By the was the restaurant was open only from 5-8 PM. Well anyway we wanted a steak dinner and I ordered a Porter house steak. Cooked medium. Steak had loads of fat on it. Meat portion was delicious. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was very western and clean as well as the restrooms. Except for the snafu with the time it was a very pleasant experience.

Confused by the website and the recorded message, we weren't sure if the restaurant was even open and what time it opened. In passing by on our way back to our condo, we saw the open sign so made a u turn. Upon walking in the front lobby area, it was very hot and as we entered the restaurant, we were relieved that it was air-conditioned. The hostess and waitress were courteous and took good care of us. Our respective salads were good (garden and a caesar) and our steaks (a t-bone and a small sirloin) and baked potatoes cooked as ordered. They were tasty but we both felt they were a little fatty and not the best steaks we ever had. The coconut shrimp seemed flat and perhaps a bit overcooked and they weren't served with any kind of fruity dipping sauce as I've had at other restaurants. Our fountain drinks were replenished several times without our asking. All in all it was a good meal and by the time we left, many others were entering the restaurant and parking lot for dinner. As tourists, it seems that restaurants of any type are few and far between in this general area. So many restaurants we were interested in were out of business.

We stopped with a group of 12 on a Sunday for supper and were quickly accomodated. Menu is fantastic, food was delicious, prices well within reason for the quality of the food. We got the 9oz delmonico and took some home. Our waitress was Meghan, fantastic server! She dealt with everything with a smile and a kind word. WARNING: do NOT order the 32oz steak for two without knowing what you're getting into first! The average couple can make 3 meals out of it! Wow! We will gladly go back to Dan's when we're in the area again!

We stopped here on our way through actually looking for a different place. We walked in 20 minutes before closing and we were greeted politely, not as though we were a bother. There were few people in the place, and they seemed to know each other. By the size of their waiting area, it's evident the locals like it, and that's always a good sign. Locals are the repeat customers. My daughter enjoyed her chicken fingers. I got a loaded baked potato and explained to the server that it was the easiest choice for me because I can't have gluten. She asked me some questions and seemed interested in learning more. This is also a good sign...a server who wants to learn something that will help her do a better job. She said they were planning to offer a gluten-free menu, so celiacs, check back!
