Owner description: Canyon Road is Santa Fe's historic arts district. Home to over eighty art galleries, as well as boutiques, restaurants, and historic adobe homes, it is the cultural center of Santa Fe. The galleries on Canyon Road show everything from traditional southwestern Pueblo pottery and quintessential Western art to contemporary abstraction and computer and digital art. Take time to explore; there's a little something for everyone here.

Indeed, lots of art on Canyon Road but the pretentiousness has become too much. Over the past 20 years, I’ve purchased numerous pieces of original art from VENTANA FINE ART. Today? A staffer ushered me into the back room where I could access “prints in my price range.” OMG! Who does this? I won’t be back. So very disappointing.

Canyon Road in Santa Fe is sure different - that is for sure. lined with art galleries, ranging from excellent to barely passable. a couple of excellent, expensive restaurants, and a few places for quick snacks. something for almost everybody, no? It is a great place for casual wandering, particularly on the Friday nights "art stroll. there is really nothing like Canyon Road in America. One of the reasons why Santa Fe is "the City Different." Parking is a bit of a problem, but easy walk from downtown.

Park near 225 Canyon. It's the only place near public restrooms. Plus the parking is right near so many galleries. If you love Sculpture, GO. Walk, rest, walk more. We had a lovely day and a lovely lunch.

Canyon Road has long been a fascinating place to wander. There are art shops all along the road and fascinating finds in some of the smaller shops. From old things to new, weird thing, you can have a wonderful morning or afternoon adventure. Jewelry, pottery, whatever, you can find it on this historical street. Take the time and stop for an ice cream cone, or Margarita. Don't miss it.

I loved our walk through these galleries. You encounter so much creativity in quite a short space. There are talented artists whose skill is worth seeing.
