I enjoyed the tour of the home and all of its history. Our tour guide was wonderful with kids! Before you go you should re-read The House of Seven Gables to understand some of the references.

The Turner-Ingersoll mansion sits right by the sea on a lovely site. I used to give tours there, long ago, and decided to stop by recently. The tour has changed quite a bit as the historians have found out more and more about the different features of the home, made famous in Nathaniel Hawthorne's famous novel. Inside you will see period furniture and wall treatments, and hear about the long history of the local area. Outside you can enjoy the lovely seaside garden, a well stock gift shop, and a quick tour of Hawthorne's birthplace located on the property. This is a must see!

Great place to tour in Salem, especially in the spring when all the gardens are in bloom. We were here the end of March. Too early for the flowers.

This has been such a tricky, New England spring! We hope you can join us again in nicer weather to enjoy the gardens.

What a cool house to see. Our tour guide was excellent and spoke very well about the house and its residents. I would highly recommend a visit when you are in Salem. I haven’t read the book and I will now!

Nice to visit in spring or summer if you can because of the beautiful garden and views of the water.
