Savory Fare is a bakery and restaurant serving a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), entrees and daily specials. They also offer packaged entrees prepared each day as well as a selection of frozen ones to choose from. The food at Savory Fare is consistently very good. It is a casual place, not very big, with the tables close together and limited outdoor seating. You order at the counter and a server brings your meals after you help yourself to drinks. The green chile chicken soup is one of their more popular items, but we like their Greek lemon chicken soup even better. On one recent visit I had the Chile con Carne quesadilla special and it was delicious. We’ve tried several of their pies and they are good, but not the best you’ve ever eaten. Still, this is a place worth repeat visits, and we frequently take home their packaged entrees.

This is a good place for a light meal, either eat in or take out. A casual place and basically a bakery which expanded into serving food, so not a place for a sit down dinner with a lot of mains to choose from. The menu features sandwiches, both hot and cold, homemade soups and baked goods. There are daily specials which are usually a good choice.

Met the owner "offline" and was impressed enough about the description to give his restaurant a try. CIA trained, this is not just a "sandwich" joint ... Savory Fare offers well-prepared food, very flavorful and inexpensive. I had the breakfast burrito with green chiles, which is not usually something I would seek out, and it was excellent. If I lived in or visited Albuquerque often, I would be a regular!

Stopped in for lunch today and enjoyed a very good egg salad and bacon croissant. This was today's special and it did not disappoint. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their pies and other desserts never disappoint.

Stop in and try it, I'm sure you will leave happy!

I love this place. The food is always good. Their green chili chicken soup is fabulous. They have hot sandwiches, my favorite is the Alexander, and cold sandwiches. Their salads are equally good and always very fresh. They package a lot of their favorites, soups to take home. Then we get to deserts, I have died and gone to heaven. Sour cream pound cakes, key lime pie bites, fruit tarts and chocolate cake to die for. You will not be disappointed with anything you order there. If you are an ice tea drinker, try the tropical ice tea, it is great.
