Beautiful ! From the very 1st moment riding that tarabita to hiking around and finding every waterfall. It's a bit humid so bring appropriate clothing, but do not forget your swimsuits as well to dip in the water. Found a friendly dog on the way, hummingbirds...keep an eye out for surprises.

This Forrest is filled with life , the rivers and waterfalls are surrounded by exotic plants that burst out of every inch of space.
The hike through the jungle landscape is picturesque and unforgettable, there are insects so I advise to wear a comfortable long sleeve shirt , with long tracksuit pants.

Also our tour guide didn’t tell us that trekking shoes would have been useful. We wore trainers and didn’t bring a towel, it’s quite humid and there’s an option to swim under the waterfall however as we didn’t bring anything for it we couldn’t swim !!!

The cable cart to get into the start of the Forrest is very fast and high up, fantastic view of the valley and a great introduction to the area.

We rode the Tarabita over the cloud forest reserve and walked to the first two of the waterfalls before heavy rain that made the trail slippery forced us to turn around. It is a beautiful part of Ecuador, definitely worth visiting.

We stayed at the Coffee Tree Spa and had the front desk secure us a round trip taxi and also purchase in advance the entrance ticket. Once we arrived on top of the mountain we knew it was a good idea to do the round trip taxi booking. Highly suggest others do the same.

The short cable car ride was fantastic! We had seen before hand on a TV travel channel the cable car setup so we knew what to expect. An under-hung open air basket on cable that spans between two mountains. The ground below is about 150 M / 492 ft. The view has to be fantastic on a clear bright sunny blue sky day. The day we went it was intermittent showers, however we still enjoyed the Cloud Forest adventure. Always go prepared for some type of rain in the Reserve.

We created a short video of our Ecuador leg of a recent South American trip for our friends and family to enjoy. Many of the family will never travel to South America and our posted videos helps them to enjoy everything we've seen and done. Search YouTube TSSLKJK if you want to gain more insight before your trip and adventure to the Cloud Forest.

We rode the cable car over the canopy then hiked to Nambillo Falls. The trail is uneven, had lots of stairs and is sometimes a bit muddy. Hiking sticks were helpful. This is not a good trail for those with really bad knees or other mobility issues. It is very humid. Take plenty of water. Wear insect repellent. It was a good 40 minute circuit to Nambillo Falls. I’m told it takes over two hours if you visit all the falls. We didn’t see toucans but I talked to someone who did.
