Only had breakfast here as we stayed at Rosedale Manor B&B, but we enjoyed both the food and the relaxed atmosphere. It was like having breakfast with friends.

We were staying in The Loft above Philip’s Cafe. When we went to collect our key we were welcomed with complimentary soup and coffee both of which were excellent.
As residents breakfast was also taken in the cafe. The breakfast sandwich was a feat of engineering, it kept my husband quiet for quite some time. I had the quiche which was equally delicious, quite at odds with a recent review.
All that aside nothing has yet been said of the generosity, quirkiness and general all round goodwill of the hosts.
At breakfast the cafe was full from the people staying down the road in Lynda’s B & B
All were unanimous in their praise for both establishments,

Read the great reviews so we gave it a try. there were four in our party. two had the quiche and beet/veg. salad. and two had the special, baked beans, toutons and fish cake. The quiche was tasteless and the pieces of ham were hard, the salad was just a mess in a bowl. The special, IMO, the beans were boiled white beans with a sauce, the toutons, two very small pieces of fried dough and the fish cake was nothing more than potato and onion We left and went to another café for coffee and dessert as there was very little dessert offerings in the showcase . Sorry Philip, but I can only call it as I see it.
