Description: Enjoy a proper English roast carvery in Penarth. When it comes to roast dinner, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings - including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. We serve four types of meat; roast gammon, succulent roast beef, soft turkey and juicy pork all cut and served from our carvery straight onto your plate. So it's no wonder we are the Vale of Glamorgan's favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including our tasty cooked breakfast and sensational puddings.

Roast potatoes black in colour
Stuffing as dry as Gandhi's flip flop
Yorkshire pudding big but cold
Mash resembling wallpaper paste
Turkey drier than the stuffing
The defining part of the meal was the gravy,I didn't think you could have as many lumps in one pot of gravy, how wrong I was.
The menu states that their Masterchefs produce quality food,Yeah right.
I can honestly say that we have just attempted to eat what was probably the worst meal ever,it was a disgrace, you should all be extremely embarrassed.

Took my son and two other students to eat there, they all left most of the meal. The carvery consisted of dry veg and fatty meat with only one choice, beef. The gravy had the consistency of thick soup plus one of us had a dirty fork. When I told member of staff they said we changing the suppliers for the meat, which was no use to us. Not good at all.

Went here last night , and i have to say that since it has changed from a toby , its gone down hill very fast .
There was hardly any meats available and the veg on offer looked like it had been there all day .The mash was brown
The gravy was the worst ive ever seen really lumpy ,.
If you are looking for this type of meal then i would consider looking for a toby .

My family had a meal at Barons Court Carvery and after visiting many times under both the previous Toby Carvery and now Barons Court Carvery (owned by Miltons), we found the carvery has gone downhill drastically.
The staffing there is at the bare minimum although still friendly but the main issue is the food.
On a Saturday evening (7.00 pm), the food looked like it had been there for hours with no sign of fresh food being brought in during our visit.
My wife's beef was inedible and almost 100% fat served up in thick chunks. The roast potatoes were like bullets, small and burnt. The rest of the veg was generally tasteless with a tang to the taste.
Although asked to pay for both meals, I explained that I wasn't paying for the inedible meal, which they agreed to.
We hardly ever complain if you notice our other reviews so for it to get to that point, the food must have been awful.
We used to visit regularly but will now go elsewhere in future which is a shame as we like the venue.

Decided to try this for a change as we have eaten at most of the carvery restaurants in the locality. Have to say very nice, fast pleasant service, very nice food and good value. The building is extremely nice as well, although it’s no longer a toby don’t let that put you off as we will be going again , which is the biggest recommendation i can give it.
