This was my first visit to The Ego, Penarth, as I usually go to the Penhow restaurant. Location: It was easy to find.
Restaurant: The decor is tasteful and good layout.
Service: The drinks order was not correct, but was rectified easily.
My meal was very nice, presentation could have been a little better.
The staff were initially friendly and attentive, however, when I went to the loo, my table was cleared (I was eating alone). The restaurant was not busy and therefore no-one was waiting for my table. My drink was replenished, but I felt disappointed that no-one checked if the bill had been paid etc. And I was not gone very long!!
I was not offered the dessert menu. It was not a great experience, it was not terrible either!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to read that our service wasn’t to the high standard we usually strive to deliver. Our guest feedback is crucial in ensuring we are constantly improving. I assure you this has been passed on to our team.
Booked a birthday lunch for my mums 90th birthday . The menu had something to suit all tastes I would highly recommend Ego . The service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble .
Thank you for the terrific feedback! We are glad to hear you had a wonderful time celebrating your mother's birthday with us.
As usual at Ego, we had a lovely lunch. The experience was made all the more enjoyable by our waiter, (I think his name is Kazz), who was very helpful, friendly and cheerful.
Thank you for the 5 stars! We hope to see you again soon.
Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Food was lovely, I would have liked some parmesan with the king prawn and chilli linguine but it was still very tasty. Incredibly good value for money.
Only downside for me was the hunt for the ladies toilets, they need better signs. The toilets are also very small and getting to the hand dryer when other people are in there is almost impossible, but this won't stop me visiting again.
Thank you for the 4 stars, Lisa! We hope to welcome you back soon.
