This is an amazing hike up a beautiful mountain.

You will need proper walking shoes , water, hats as there is no shade on the walk.

I recommend this walk during, the cooler months and would suggest you avoid it during July and August as it’s far to hot and there and the added risk of fire due to idiots smoking or just excess heat and you wouldn’t want to be on the mountain in a fire.

But, during the rest of the year it’s something you must do. There is various walks catering for the less active to the super fit. Enjoy but keep safe

A couple of friends decided they were going to walk up to the peak of Montgo.
They made it after a couple of hours. Apparently the last part being the most trickiest.
Views amazing and a sense of achievement!
Will do this !!!!

This mount overlooks all of Javea and supposedly looks like an elephant (recumbant and no legs). It is certainly worth the hike which can be done with energetic kids and is quite safe, There is also a cave up there worth exploring, wonderful views across the valley and coast

Decided to climb Montgo for the first time to see the sun rise. Getting up so early as well as finding way in dark with torch was a challenge - climb to beat the sunrise got the heart and legs pumping but reaching the summit as the sun rose over the Mediteranean Sea, with the mountains and valleys filling up with the suns rays will stay with me for the rest of my life. Brilliant experience.

A group of us with our dogs set off at 9.30 and chatted all the way to the top, amazing views and well worth the trek. Quite difficult in parts, but has to be done!
