We were happy with Casa Carla. We wanted to stay two nights in the same place, and this was a good choice as there are frequent, well marked, inexpensive buses between Melide and Palas de Rei.
The house has a small, well equipped kitchen (no oven) that we used for snacks and for preparing our next day's picnic.
There is a small patio in back, with a table and chairs, where we had a fun time playing cards one night. There is a comfortable, though small, living room with a large TV that only gets Spanish stations.
The front door is operated by a touch pad code which eliminated the hassle with keys. It is centrally located.
The only negative is that there is no air conditioning in the house and little ventilation and for that reason I give it only 4 stars as it was quite hot when we visited. Also, neither of the two bedrooms have bathtubs (shower only), and a hot bath would have been welcome after a long day on the camino.
