If you fancy staying in a medieval castle, this is a great choice. Thoroughly refurbished inside, it still has plenty of historic features: we enjoyed finding the Romanesque chapel that was hidden away behind a tiny door. Our room was spacious and well-equipped, with a superb view over the town. All the staff were excellent: the receptionist gave us a full description of everything there was to see in the Parador as we'd just missed the tour, the bar staff were friendly and accommodating and the service in the restaurant was efficient and helpful. We ate really well, trying the local tasting menu and its range of meats, cheeses and goat. In all, it's a bit of a magical environment, with plenty to see in Sigüenza and the surrounding countryside (there are some lovely walks in the local natural park of the Barranco del Río Dulce), and made for quite a memorable stay.

Although the Paradore at Siguenza is beautiful the terrible service and poor food at the reataurant ruined our pleasure of the visit. Overpriced, cold soup, gone-off water melon and served by staff that didnt care, we seemed to be an inconvenience to them. Had a terrible dinner followed by an also terrible breakfast. At over £400 for one night for 2 roooms it was disgraceful.

Wonderful experience staying in a genuine castle
It was really special - had a great room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard
The rooms are quite large, comfortable and really quiet
The restaurant/ breakfast room was really beautiful and has to be experienced
As usual with the staff, nothing was too much trouble
Simple walk down the hill to the town with quite a few bars and restaurants
Would recommend this hotel for a complete get away from it all rest and chill

We spent the last night of a two-week holiday at Parador de Siguenza and, not for the first time on a fortnight spent mainly in Paradors, we were hugely impressed with the building. The restoration of this centuries-old castle has been beautifully done, and the rooms are large and comfortable. We had a 'superior' room which gave us a private balcony overlooking the beautiful enclosed courtyard.

Situated at the top of a steep hill (so any walk into town involves a hike back up!) and with a steep cobbled car park, the first impression of the Parador is very good. There is currently a large crane spoiling the medieval outline and towers, but I imagine that's only temporary.

We had lunch in the cafeteria when we arrived in early afternoon (a great cheeseburger and duck cannelloni and croquetas). We had a great dinner at the restaurant although we were staying on a room-only basis paid for with parador points - scrambled eggs with black pudding and sausage mixed in (much nicer than it sounds!) and black noodles with cuttlefish and prawns for starters, and two different steaks for main course (both beautifully tender). There was only room for a shared dessert (raspberry sorbet and sacher torte with white chocolate sauce). A great last meal of the holiday! We had to leave early in the morning so didn't get to try the breakfast.

Room Tip: Superior rooms have a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Ideal for sunbathing (though very hot in the afternoon/evening sun).

This is a great castle with plenty of parking and excellent views. The rooms are big as is the bathroom. Personnel is friendly and very bent into helping. The wi.fi is free and works well. Breakfasf offer a possibility of simple breakfast with items priced individually, as in a coffee shop.
