The Hotel website accurately shows the attractive exterior and interiors and while I don't know if the building is old or new the Casablanca feels nostalgic - as if it might have hosted Agatha Christie and inspired her writing. The location is perfect - overlooking a palm and tree studded square, the sea to left and right, and straight ahead the landmark rocky hillside "Penones de San Cristobal. With the busy streets of the shopping and business area a short walk away, the Casablanca is quiet and relaxed. The Botanical gardens, ancient Roman fish processing factory and a great choice of cafes and restaurants are also nearby - as is a handy supermarket. There is a great promenade for several kilometers alongside the beach.
Presentation of the room and bathroom was immaculate, neutral and attractive decor, easy access by lift and stairs, comfortable beds. Located at the rear of the hotel there was plenty of natural light but no sea view, which was no disadvantage to us as we were exploring all day. For anyone wanting to sleep in, a sea view at the front would be great. We ate out so can't comment on the food although we had coffee at all hours and service was unobtrusive and at all times helpful. I would stay there again.

The style of hotel is very pleasing. It is a moorish style architecture and is painted a rusty red colour and it stands out well amongst other buildings. There is a very pleasant outside area with tables to sit at within the hotel area which is set in a small square very close to the promenade, beach and many restaurants and is only a short stroll away from the town.

We stayed in a standard room which was small but adequate for our needs. The bathroom was fairly grand and very spacious. The hotel decor is very pleasant and artistic.

We had dinner there as part of a party of 40, the food was excellent in every respect.

Breakfast is good with a few choices, the same for the lunch menu.

Pablo seems to be around to answer any questions that one has and I would enjoy staying in this hotel on another occasion.

I asked for a quiet room, but there was building work being done on the floor beneath, with loud drilling and hammering. They said it had stopped, but it continued on. I left but they still charged for the experience! They said I had used the room for 6 hours. I had left my luggage in it for 2 and used earphones in it for 2. The room was also full of flies. Went to a lovely family-run hotel around the corner, Hotel Goya, which I normally use and can highly recommend.

Room Tip: No point in asking for a quiet room

After making a trip across the world to Spain for a family reunion this hotel completely ruined the trip after bullying us (BY CALLING THE POLICE) into paying for an upgraded room which was initially offered to us by a member of staff upon check in. FYI the staff failed to tell us that we would be charged for the upgrade. Completely dishonest people! Avoid at all cost!

Travelers searching for a simple and clean hotel with all the basic amenities get value for their money with Hotel Casablanca. This small hotel is built in a charming Moorish style. The rooms are spotless clean and contain a good bed, a flat screen TV, air conditioning and a properly working WiFi connection. Some rooms have a balcony with a nice view over the beach. The bathroom is spacious and modern and contains a prime shower. Staff members are friendly and always ready to help. Just be aware that not all employees speak fluently English.

An additional asset of this hotel is its excellent location. For the beach and the sea one only have to cross a square and the center of Almuñécar is just 500 meters away. The hotel is surrounded by numerous restaurants and cozy bars, but it is also possible to enjoy a diner in the in-house restaurant. Travelers wanting to do their own shopping, can find a large supermarket nearby.
