This hotel has finished its renovations. I didn't stay in it while it was being renovated or before it was renovated so I can't speak to that but the finished renovation is decent.

Hotel is gated with a security guard at the gate which is nice. I felt perfectly safe. 2 blocks to the Civic Center Metro - uneventful walk which is good. Room was simple and clean. Small kitchenette - refrigerator was cool, did not test the microwave or burners. Bathroom was clean, shower in my room (306) had a seat so it's disability friendly - shower was on the older side. Good water pressure out of shower and faucets. TV in room worked great as did all lights. Bed sags in the middle so it's an older mattress. Good air-conditioner but it is really loud - if you can sleep during 'white noise' it shouldn't bother you. Room was non-smoking and did not smell of smoke.

Walls are thin I was able to hear conversations in the room next door. Clientele is a mixed bag and next door is a drug and alcohol rehab center so there will be individuals hanging around outside the motel. Basically, on all counts, you leave them alone, they leave you alone - just as in any large metropolitan area. Someone did try my room at 1 am in the morning but it sounded like a wrong room/key scenario. The area is not 'dangerous' - just be smart about your travels, again as in any big city. Morning/daylight travel is fine on foot. If you come back after dark by yourself - just hop a taxi, uber or lyft ~$5 from downtown via uber or lyft.

Staff is very friendly. If you need more toilet paper, towels etc just ask. They also don't appear to come into rooms during the day so if you want room service (fresh linens) just ask them to service your room on your way out for the day.

All in all - worked for my needs, a clean secure place to sleep while attending a conference downtown. If you are woman traveling alone (like I was) just lyft or uber back at night.

Room Tip: Room 306, by elevator, disability chair in shower, has kitchenette, loud A/C

Room stank of smoke, staff unhelpful, there was an altercation outside our room which was scary !!!
It was so bad although we booked in advance for 2 nights we didn't stay and found alternative accommodation.

The hotel is in the midst of a renovation, however even the renovated rooms are in terrible shape. There was broken glass on the walkways, mold in the shower handle, the microwave had paint spray (i hope) and i was afraid to even touch the coffee pot

..a one night stay in Atlanta. The location was good.I had an event to go to close by.It was your average room. The girls at front desk were very nice and helpful about directions in Atlanta. The room was clean and the bed slept ok.They have a security guard to keep check on things. The rate was reasonable.

Every room smells like cigarettes even though they are supposed to be “smoke free rooms”, paint coming off on walls, furniture and appliances are broken, the floor is sticky, people playing music and yelling until midnight. There is no room service. They told me in the office that cleaning service comes once a week, because it is an extended stay property. Since they rent rooms daily, I guess they do not change linens between guests. Cockroaches are everywhere. I am not sure how they passed inspection control.
