“Wonderful holiday in a beautiful place”
Reviewed 29 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This was a beautiful villa in an amazing location. The local scenery was awesome. We did some lovely walks such as the Camininto del Ray (They have their own web site and you need to book in advance). The caves just beyond the next village are well worth a visit and so is Ronda.
We were a group of seven 3 x +70yr olds, 2 x +50yr olds and 2 x +20yr olds.
The villa was well equipped for everyones needs. We loved the upstairs terrace for breakfast with wonderful views and the shaded area by the pool for lunch. The village of Montejaque is also beautiful and the walk up to the view point very pretty and the best way to explore the village. There are plenty of bars and some lovely restaurants, who all despite our lack of ability to speak Spanish made us very welcome. I would recommend this villa to anyone who wants a taste of real Spain. Our only regret is we were only there for a week. We will definitely have to visit again as there is so much more in the area we would like to do and we didn't spend enough time lazing by the lovely pool side.

“Beautiful villa in stunning scenery.”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The booking of the villa was handled expertly, with lots of information offered and questions answered.

The villa itself is extremely high quality. We shared with another family with two children and there was so much space for all to relax. From around the pool with shade and sun, and a lovely shaded eating area, to the second level terrace off the kitchen and living room, and the roof terrace with loungers. The kitchen was well equipped and all tastefully done and very clean, so you could really feel relaxed and spoiled. Four bathrooms between 2 families meant no sharing issues, it worked really well.

The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and the scenery dramatic. The views from the villa itself are amazing, but short drives, and visits into Ronda, reveal further beautiful and varied landscapes.

Montajaque itself is that rare holiday holy grail: a genuinely local community village with just enough amenities for the tourists! We enjoyed morning walks to the bakery for bread followed by a coffee in the square, and evening drinks in the village in one of the many little local bars. We were very lucky that during our second week it was the village festival so the village was buzzing every night with music and different events. We found the people to be very friendly and soon got used to exchanging 'Ola' with every person we passed as we walked into the village.

The village also had some good eating places which we enjoyed as we could just walk up eat and wander home after a few drinks. Our favourite was El Patio, which served good food at great prices in a small inner courtyard.

We had some great meals further afield also. Of note: Casa Maria for Tapas in Ronda, Alhamcobar in Ronda and Molino Del Santo just a couple if miles away in the neighbouring village of Benoajan.

We visited Ronda several times, visited some other pueblo blancos, and friends with us visited the coast one day and Jirez on another. We also spent many lazy days by the pool, barbecued once, and walked up the mountain next to the villa one evening for views of Ronda (this was easier than it looked with a good safe path.)

This is a beautiful area of Spain which we had never previously visited but we would certainly hope to return.
