Benahavis is a small village in the hills above the noise and grim of costa del sol, a great place to visit.
Not looking to eat too much for lunch,so settled for the turbot... it was wonderful.
included in the price was cherry brandy, olives, gerkin, pate, cheese and breads. This was all before the Turbot arrived. Our visit , was out of season, but still a dozen or so people in for lunch. We were able to sit outside in the sun on their terrace.
Tip: It can be difficult to park in Benahavis, use the car park on right hand turn, just before the Rufino, when approaching from the south, plenty of room in March.

we were treated to a lovely glass of chilled sherry when we arrived, and a generous taster of pate, olives and other little treats, so did not really need a starter, but the pil pil prawns were very good, and very generous size. - Then OK lamb chops, but really over cooked vegetables were disappointing though, and nothing on the desert plate looked at all appetising I am sorry to say.
This was an expensive restaurant , so we felt that the food should have been better, and certainly the presensation should have been.
We asked for mayonnaise and the bottle was dumped on the table as was the grubby looking bottle of mint sauce, All in all - not impressed

We didn't really need much lunch but were tempted by the attractive table settings on the terrace in the sun. We were taken great care of and welcomed with a cherry liqueur and olives, pâté with toast and bits of cheese. We both had the chicken gratin which was a generous portion so we took some home in a doggy bag. Washed down with a couple of glasses of wine and a digestif to finish with - on the house!

Family friendly, with a good view from its elevated position, across the rooves of the villlage. Attentive staff, good, wholesome Spanish food.
