“Lovely space, beautiful, quiet and relaxed. Not set up for keen cooks or anyone who doesn't like dogs.”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Would start by saying we really, really enjoyed our stay. Booked by a friend of mine, the slightly off piste location was really no hassle, an easy 10 min drive from the pretty portside town of Castellamare del Golfo.

Rooms were nicely set up, clean and comfortable (and even-sized) each with own very stylish ensuite bath or shower room, what a treat! There was lots of space for this group of 7 friends to either congregate or read in peace.

There is a lovely pool, roomy terraces (one of which had distant sea views) and thick, soundproof walls.

The wifi worked well.

We enjoyed too the constant presence of a friendly golden labrador which has adopted the space and occasionally invites its friends to chill in the garden. It was healthly looking well behaved and trotted off each evening for an hour (presumably for its dinner). No problem for us and we didnt feed or encourage it beyond the odd tummy tickle, but probably needs mentioning to prospective renters.

We were able to drive out from here and easily visit much of NW Sicily including Zingaro Nature reserve, Scopello, Trapani and Erice, Segesta and San Vito lo Capo.

The space felt private and calm.

We liked it a lot.

The only small downside for our group was that the kitchen really wasn't well set up for a group which included serveral keen cooks eager to play with local ingredients. There were plates, cups, cutlery glasses and a few pans but that was pretty much it. Few (floppy) utensils, no peeler, grater, lemon squeezer, sieve, serving platters (we bought a few of these things and left them there!). All very minor quibbles and easily and cheaply remedied it certianly didnt spoil our stay, but if you are keen cooks, pack your favourite sharp knife.
