Owner description: Named in 2012 as one of National Geographic's “25 Wonders of the World," Blue Lagoon has evolved from its infancy as a reservoir of geothermal runoff into a world of geothermal wonder. The unique properties of its waters provide not only an enchanting lagoon experience, but also the patented, active ingredients in Blue Lagoon skin care: silica, algae, and minerals. Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800 year old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula – a UNESCO Geopark. Just 20 minutes from Keflavík International Airport and 50 minutes from Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon is simultaneously remote and easily accessible.

Brilliant afternoon here. Although busy there is plenty of space to really enjoy it.
A huge thank you to Daniel and the staff for finding our wedding rings that I lost. Great ending to an amazing great holiday. Thank you.

If you visit Iceland you must visit the Blue Lagoon. It is a geothermal heated lagoon with glowing blue waters and spa like silica mud that just about everyone smears on their body. It is an attraction like none other and you will feel invigorated when you are done. The water temps range between 100 and 104 F. It is close to Reykjavik and not expensive to visit.

As advised we visited the Blue Lagoon as soon as we landed on our first day as its convenietly on route to Reykjavik from the airport.
We booked for 1pm during the 3rd week of September and it was fairly quiet. We were expecting commerical, but it actually was much more relaxing than i expected.

We spent a couple of hours in the pool, and enjoyed a complimentary drink and my husband two face masks.

The changing rooms were a little crowded and you must shower naked. Communal facilities are available but you can have a private cubicle which you might have to que for. You can add robes and flip flops to your package , towels are included.

I suffer with severe eczema and decided against the face masks as a precaussion, I can't claim the Thermo water helped , but certinatly didn't make it any worse.

a lovely way to realx for a few hours and a fun acitivity to start off your trip to Iceland.

This is a must do in Iceland. Very unique experience. We purchased a premium package which included a free drink and upgraded face mask as well as a robe and flip flops. The water is magical, we explored the lagoon for several hours, enjoying our $12 beers as we soaked. Tried our face masks and floated with the rest of the bathers. You must make reservations so the lagoon was busy but never felt crowded. The water felt amazing, this was an incredibly relaxing experience. Note to ladies- make sure you lather your hair in conditioner and tie it up, the water will turn it to fizzy straw.
We had dinner at Lava afterwards which was delicious. Ordered the cured beef appetizer and dessert cheese plate to start- incredible. Had the lamb (very fatty and somewhat disappointing) and the beef tenderloin (huge portion, cooked perfectly) and their signature caramel mousse donut desert (perfect).
An absolute must-do for Iceland.
