The location was perfect! Walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Seattle. Check in and out was very detailed and easy. It was nice to have access to the pool, hot tub and sauna (although we did not have time to use any). It was also nice to have a balcony with a view of the water. The condo was great except for two very important details involving a good night sleep. When I originally researched a one bedroom, it stated there would be a king bed. When we arrived, it was more like a double bed. Not enough room for two friends. One of us had to sleep on the pull out bed, which was absolutely horrible. The other problem was the street noise outside. My friend could not sleep with all the activity and people yelling outside on the Harbor Steps throughout the night. I think it would be important to notify future guests of the noise so they have a choice. I would book through Stay Alfred in Seattle again, but I would make sure of the bed preference and a higher floor unit.
When we arrived, we had been air born for 8 hours so arrived at the apartment a bit weary. Initially the room was a bit hard to get to as we entered the building on one street to get the keys and ended up in another building on another street. In most of our travels, the outdoor space is very important. It was a cute balcony overlooking University and 1st which turned out to be a great perch. But one of two chairs had a broken leg and was not usable. It was hot weather and the unit does not have central air but a portable units you have to exhaust through the balcony door. So, the first few hours were trying. But then the location was ideal and we grew to love the place. The bed was very comfortable. The lighting was poor but we were never there to really need it. The price was good and we left as happy customers.
We had a great vacation and Seattle and we were thrilled with our stay with Stay Alfred. Our apartment was an amazing downtown location, waking distance to everything you would want to do on a visit to Seattle. The apartment was roomy and nice. We enjoyed all of the amenities very much!! The price and location were better than we could have asked for!!!!
We stayed in unit SE203. Great view, in the middle of everything. Very clean. Supplied with dishes, toaster, etc, small washer & dryer. Bed was good, hide a bed was horribly uncomfortable. Not a great unit for those requiring 4 beds. Loud since you are at street level. Parking was $30/day in the building without in and out privileges. We would get a 2 bedroom next time to avoid the hide a bed torture.
Stay Alfred was very user friendly in facilitating this rental and the apartment proved perfect for our needs. It was comfortable and well-appointed, and although the rainy weather in Seattle during our stay did not allow us to use it, the building's outdoor patio with sea and city views could have been another well-appreciated asset. The best thing about the apartment was it's location. It is at the top of Harbour Steps - a very short walk to the waterfront, Pike Place Market, Westlake Shopping Centre (shopping and where you catch the monorail to Seattle Centre, Space Needle and Experience Music Project museum), Pioneer Square, etc. It was literally across the street from the tremendous Seattle Art Institute. And there were restaurants and bars galore within a short walk. One of our favourites was right outside the door - Von's. Also there is a market on the Harbor Steps, a stone's throw away were we could get basic groceries and beverages. We absolutely did not need a car. If we had more days and more time to explore, the public transit system seemed easy to access. There is no parking for guests at this building so that's just as well. Despite the fact that this apartment is on the corner of a busy street, it was amazingly quiet. Nor could we hear other tenants. In all, I can recommend Stay Alfred in general and this apartment in particular (although it was just as nice as the photos here indicate, it was slightly different than these photos).
