We did Norwegian Jewel shore excursion that included...gold panning (yes we got some flakes), gold rush dog tour & then White Pass train ride. Stopping at Gold Rush Sled Dogs was so interesting. Kaci Murringer, is an Iditarod competitor & she gave a great informational talk about the race, how it works, how to pack & how the dogs are cared for. We got to meet some of the dogs & watch them do a quick run around the summer track. Boy they sure were loud & eager to run, run, run. Loved it. There were only 5 puppies so they got passed along to everyone in the group. Emma Rose Chong was also on hand to answer questions & make sure none of the puppies were hiding under our jackets when we left.

We went to Gold Rush Sled Dogs in Skagway as part of a shore excursion. Kaci and Matt were very knowledgeable and talked about the Iditarod, being a Musher and caring for the dogs. We got to meet the dogs and watch a sled dog launch and afterwards they brought out the puppies. A great experience despite it being overbooked.

This is a great tour and demonstration. Everyone that spoke to us was knowledgeable about the sled dogs and the Iditarod race. We learned about how the dogs are trained and the incredible effort it takes to prepare for and participate in the race. The love they all have for these dogs came shining through.
And of course the highlight is the dogs themselves. Each one has its own personality! And the puppies are really adorable. Holding them and getting a kiss is a wonderful experience.

Part of our Shore Excursion in Skagway was to visit Gold Rush Sled Dogs. Matt and team did an outstanding job and were very informative and explained the history of the Iditarod, and the care of the Alaskan huskies. They gave a demonstration of their training and showed what a sled launch looks like. My little one and I absolutely enjoyed getting to see the Alaskan Husky puppies. This is a must see attraction in Skagway, AK.

We cruised to Alaska and went on several excursions, including whale watching but the Gold Rush Train Ride And Dog Sled Combination was definitely the best! We learned about the Iditarod sled race, met the dogs, got pictures with the puppies, and watched a trial run around the track.
