We took the 7 1/2 our boat cruise with Major Marine which took us to the Holgate glacier, among others. Although the weather was cold and rainy, the glacier was impressive. The glacier appeared very blue closer to the base. We also saw a number of whales and sea lions. The sea was angry that day and many people, including my wife, became seasick. If you are prone to seasickness, I would reconsider this excursion, as there is no way for you to return before hand. Dress very warm! You need hat and gloves and rain gear.

Our boat tour took us up very close to the foot of the glacier and we watched it calf as we floated in the ice laden water in near silence - awesome!

We visited the glacier on a wildlife/glacier viewing boat tour. Stunning scenery. Watched as a small piece of the glacier fell into the sea. Saw bear, mountain goats, humpback and killer whales while visiting the glacier.

Absolutely incredible! We visited on a rainy day and the glacier glows even more blue! It was the best experience! Put it on your bucket list! :)
