Small but very nice. Amazing view. Humpbacks out in the bay. Would definitely return again and the price is worth it

We took the behind the scenes octopus tour here. The tour was better than my 10 year old and i expected.

The first ~15 minutes was spent in a classroom like setting, explaining some about Octopus and what we would see next. My daughter actually said she felt like she should take notes!

Following that, we had about an hour encounter with the animals. From the tiny (i could barely see them) to the huge full grown. We got to encounter three very large full grown adults, and 2 of them came out to say high significantly.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and helpful, he clearly knew and spent a lot of time with these animals. It was a great way to spend a few hours, and to get to see up close and personal something we normally would not get to see.

I highly recommended checking out the Alaska Sea Life Center. They have tons of organisms and information about the ecosystem and conservation efforts. Their sea bird observation room is also phenomenal!

We paid $48 pp for entry and the otter experience behind the scenes tour. We loved our visit. The up close with Bishop the otter was the highlight. Yes, the center is small, but it is so well done and informative and full of activities. Our sons played a video game and took green screen selfies with a sea lion. I loved learning about Pacific salmon, where they spawn, and their physical transformation. The touch tank has unusual, furry sea stars among other things. I felt good knowing our payment is helping marine animal rehabilitation efforts in the area. Highly recommend! Also, we saved 10 percent with AAA.

While the Alaska SeaLife Center does amazing work, the public exhibit area is a tad small. We spent most of the time in the sea bird exhibit as the animals were very close and active. The rest of the aquarium is nice. It is not the best aquarium I have ever visited, but definitely far from being the worst. Worth checking out while in Seward.
