Owner description: Millers Landing is a lodging and activity center right outside of Seward Alaska. We have fishing charters, water taxi, kayaking excursions, all types of lodging, and much much more! We also act as a local booking center for just about anything you can do in our area, at no cost to you. At Millers Landing we strive to take the stress out of trip planning for you and your friends and family. Fourth generation homesteaders to the area, we have all the local insights and tips you need to maximize your stay in our area, and more! Located 2.5 miles out of town, Millers Landing offers a unique platform for its activities, separating itself from the hustle of the "tourist town". Family run, on the homestead, and still very strongly participating in a subsistence lifestyle, Millers Landing offers true lifelong Alaskan hospitality. Come enjoy our free coffee from our porch and watch the boats and kayaks take off and return, often with loads of fish! Where the road ends, adventure begins!

We arrived 20 mins before the departure time that we scheduled at 9:00am. They asked for us to sit and wait until our guide arrived, which we did. He didn't show up until 9:30 and we heard other people talking that he had slept in. Then it took him another 15 mins to organise our stuff. He originally planned the Humpy Cove experience, but they didn't bring us there because they were so far behind schedule. No one told us this. When we arrived, I asked if it was Humpy cove and they said no. I feel like someone should have explained to us what was happening. We did have a good time in the kayaks, but it was not guided. We kind of just went around the cove by ourselves. We saw some sea lions which were cool. Then our boat came EARLY to pick us up, after our guide said we had heaps more time to kayak around. Then we went and picked up people on the way back, which is fine, but we felt we spent more time on the boat than kayaking.

We originally thought we paid for a guided, 4 hour kayaking tour/boat trip to Humpy Cove. Even though our guide was a nice person, he seemed super sleepy and tired. So basically we didn't get what we paid for. Overall disappointed.

Our morning at Millers Landing started our with us arriving the recommended 20 minutes ahead of time. Once we had signed all of the necessary paperwork we were told that our guide would find us at our departure time. After waiting 30 minutes I went back in and we were finally assigned another guide who still needed to get our items ready for departure. We were told that we had to get out for our pick up after about an hour of paddling and and then waited on the beach for another 1:15 for the water taxi to come get us. The Three Alpine Glacier package was to have 45 minutes of water time to spot wildlife, 1.5 hours of paddling and a return trip. We purposely chose this trip to integrate an chance to see wildlife. The boat ride was short and silent. We actually spent more time on the beach waiting for the water taxi than we did in the Kayak. That being said, our guide Lacy was professional and friendly and felt bad about the delay. The front office and owners didn’t seem to care. The trip started late and ended late, but had nothing to do with the time we spent on the water. I wound definitely look at other options in the area. The attitude is just as bit too relaxed for the money one spends on an Alaskan adventure and the delays affected the plans we had made for the area.

Couldn't have had a better place to stay! We had an RV site right on the water, which was perfect. We were attending a wedding in the area, and many of us stayed at Millers Landing. Chance and his family, as well as all the staff we interacted with- were excellent- they went out of their way to make sure we all had a great time. The halibut charter was fantastic- 60# halibut, that we had processed and shipped home. Our relatives did the kayak trip, and said it was amazing. The hike to Tonsina Beach can be done right from the campground. An easy hike, with spectacular scenery.
Thanks to all for making our stay such a highlight of our entire vacation!
