We were surprised and delighted to find such a fine place, with a friendly staff for such a good price! We will return. We could see and hear the sea. This is not a resort - it is more like the way Holiday Inns felt like in the old days - clean and efficiently run with no fuss or bother.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. We had 4th floor which was perfect.

Stayed here for a couple nights with my husband and young son. There is a nice lounge area up front to hang out in and relax. We didn't try the pool as it closed at 6pm, it would have been nice for it to be open a little later but it wasn't a deal breaker. Our room was just a normal hotel room. Decent beds and a TV, towels were on the small side, but there was a fridge and that was a plus! Our lanai was the best part. We love being outside having a couple beers in the evening and this was the perfect place for it. The hotel was in a convenient location to shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they remembered my son's name when we checked out which he thought was cool. We would stay here again!

The Room was a good size. It has a fan, A/C, small refrigerator, balcony with chairs. The bed was clean/ comfy. The room was clean. The laundry is on the premises. The parking was little far but it was ok because it was free. The location is great close to many restaurants and beach. The internet was free. The only negative was the shower in the bathroom too low and not much water.

We stayed at the Kona Seaside for our 10 day vacation. The location is perfect. We were able to walk to dinner pretty much every night since downtown is basically steps away. The room wasn't anything fancy but did the job especially if you plan on exploring the island and not just relaxing in the room. There is a small fridge and coffee maker in the room. Pool was basic but my daughter liked it. We would definitely stay here again.

Free parking, free WiFi, breakfast plan. This property is located in "downtown" Kona, about 25 minutes from the airport, about 10 minutes from the Honokohau Marina, and across the street from the city pier. There is an dive bar in the adjoining property that can get a little noisy at night. Down the stairs from the hotel is a little touristy shopping center with a shop that sells good ice cream and 100% Kona coffee. Above the coffee shop is Splasher's Grill (#8 on TripAdvisor) who serves the hotel's breakfast. About three blocks up from the hotel are drugstores, markets, gas station, etc. The property is rated AAA Two Diamonds. There wasn't anything to make us go "Oh wow" nor made us go "Yuck."

Room Tip: We asked for Ocean View. This puts us up at least on the third floor and away from most noise sources.
