I have found the food at Ötztaler Stube to serve the best meals we have experienced across all our ski trips in the Alps. The ambiance is a cosy traditional ski chalet with pine walls. The food and the service is excellent. The menu that we experienced was worthy of 1, if not 2 Michelin stars.
The Char with radish, the rabbit starter and the chicken main which also came with chicken in a glass (imagine the nicest chicken and vegetable dish you have ever had served with foam in a glass - innovative and crucially SO tasty!). All were exciting and delicious.
Dessert was (if possible) even better. The curd cheese & brown bread dumpling pudding with rhubarb did not sound promising, but the flavours were delicate and oh so good. My husband said the caramel chocolate (which came out smoking) was even better..
Ötztaler Stube is a hidden gem and easily the best restaurant in Solden. Whether you are staying at The Central Hotel or not, you must have a meal here.
