We visited the hotel for an overnight stay in heilingenblut , the hotel as beautiful panoramic views towards the Grossglockner. We had a meal in the lovely dining room and the meal and service was first class. The folk singer Jack Reynolds was great and he sang some beautiful Irish and classic folks songs and it made out to be a wonderful visit to this excellent hotel which I would highly recommend.

We wanted a comfortable suite and that was exactly what we got. The sitting area was circular and very roomy. The balcony followed the curvature of the room with a door on each side. The views both up and down the valley were incredible and Grossglockner was in view from the balcony and the separate bathroom !! The breakfast was generous with appetites for all and the staff were always on the look out to keep things topped up. Dinner comprised of 5 courses including starter, soup (as much as you like), salad buffet, main course (4 choices) and sweet. The owners, Johanna & Erhard, thankfully spoke good English and were helpful in every respect. The hotel is placed at the end of a 22km valley rapidly rising above to the mountains. There are some small villages in the valley, the area is ideal for walking, driving to larger towns (Lienz and Spittal) and several interesting waterfalls and of course the Grossglockner Mountain Road over to Zell am See.
The only downside was we were only there for 2 weeks ! We are not skiers but it must be great in the winter months. We could write pages on our holiday but the only way to experience the magic of Hotel Larchenhof, Heiligenblut and its surroundings - is to go there.

Room Tip: We selected a suite at a price that far supercedes rooms in the UK. The room was quiet, magnificent views and well furnished

We stayed 5 days in this hotel and it was just amazing! The hotel is very lovely and very traditional, the staff is very friendly. We had one double room and one family room, both were in the renovated part of the hotel. The rooms vere pretty big, very clean and the furniture was quite new. The bed was big enough and very comfortable. The bathroom was very good and enough big as well. We also had a big balcony with a nice view.
The food was very tasty, fresh fruits and vegetables in the morning and the dinner...well, it was just amazing! You should not miss it! Every morning you find the "hotel newspaper" on the table, where you can choose which menu you want for dinner (very hard decision every day, becaus everything was so delicious!), weather prognose for the day and so on. Very practical!
The spa area was quite small and there is no pool, such a pity. But the saunas are excellent, however sometimes bit overcrowded.
It takes only 8min of walk from the hotel to the ski lift - perfect ski conditions for all - beginners and pros, we liked it very much!
Definitely a 4* hotel and definitely worth the money.

Perfect base for visiting the area, specially Grossglockner Alpine road. The view was great, also we could park our car just in front of the door.
The only thing missing was a refrigerator / minibar in the room.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is within a stone's throw from the center of the village, but still a little bit uphill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view (hence the name))).
The superior room we took was spacious and came with a balcony. The breakfast and dinner were simple and unpretentious, but filling and of good quality.
The service was very nice and friendly, in the best traditions of Alpine hospitality.

From the negative points, we'd like to mention that some of the upholstered furniture was dowdy, even for a countryside hotel. Also tea/coffee making facility in the room would be welcome.
