Description: NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s casual eatery in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef’s food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA was renovated in 2017 and is now open daily at 11:30 am serving one menu for lunch and dinner.

Reservations preferred, but we went twice between 5 and 6 pm and were able to be seated promptly. The shrimp and grits were amazing. Try the pop over as an appetizer. Portion sizes are reasonable and some items are perfect for sharing. The oyster pot pie was a work of art. The chunky monkey a n d lemon tart are tasty endings to the meal. Recently renovated, this 3 story building is in the French Quarter and a short walk to Canal Street. The wait staff were friendly and attentive.

I suggested this restaurant to a group of business colleagues after having eaten here before. Our group of six was served promptly and all were pleased with their food and drink choices (sign of relief). My drum fish dish was somewhat dried out.
We were seated at a table "upstairs" in a room that was very loud and close to a kitchen area.
This is not a good choice for a more quiet couple's dinner. The server was a bit "pushy" around why we should order "more appetizers" and desserts.

This place was a short stroll from my hotel in the French quarter. I stopped in during happy hour (3pm-6pm) and ordered from their $5 snack menu. I had the housemade andouille sausage, pork cracklin nachos, and New Orleans hot frog legs. I found the frog legs to be overly salty, but the sausage and nachos were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great menu selection and the restaurant had an industrial warehouse vibe that works.

This is a really cool 3 story restaurant in the French Quarter. Easy to walk to. Recommend a reservations. The atmosphere is festive and the food was awesome just like all of Emeril's restaurants. The shrimp and grits was excellent. Not to rich.
