Beautiful Houses, Luxurious Gardens, Historical SIgnatures, Old Mansions... You'll be blown away. This is a must see, don't visit only the French Quarter. The Garden District gives a different historical & contemporary outlook on the city. Easy to walk around.

We got there with a hop on- hop off tour but then recommend to take the time and walk the streets. Great opportunity to take pictures of the beautiful houses.

A few shops and restaurants. Beautiful homes. Be careful of the one way streets and cars parked along the curb

Stayed in a hotel next to the French Quarter so we took an Uber over to the Garden District to me up with our walking tour guide. Took about 20 minutes to get there.

Started with a visit to the historic cemetery followed by a neighborhood tour of beautiful homes including one owned by John Goodman and another by Sandra Bullock. Took a streetcar ride back to town.

We chose this location because we were traveling with teens and decided to skip the French Quarter.

The Garden District has so much to offer. Tree lined streets, beautiful old homes, hotels, shopping and restaurants. There is a streetcar line that will allow you to see it all for $1.25. Jump on and take a tour.

We felt perfectly safe walking around the neighborhood and taking in the sites. St Charles Street is a Mardi Gras parade route. The trees and signs were full of beads. I can only imagine what the parades must be like.

Great alternative to French Quarter. Highly recommended!
