Close enough to all that NOLA has to offer, but a beautiful and quiet place to catch your breath. We are yearly visitors to NOLA and this was our first time at the Marigny. Definitely our new place to stay. John makes sure that all your needs are met and sets you off in the right direction to enjoy your day.
We recently stayed here for 3 nights prior to a cruise out of NO. We enjoyed out stay very much. This home is located outside the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street yet with in safe, easy walking to the Quarter or any other activities in NO. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and we slept quite well in the comfy beds. John, the host goes out of his way to insure you are comfortable, offers wonderful advice, on your stay in NO if you are a first timer. The breakfasts are very nice, and come in handy to get you moving, and on your way. They consist of waffles, muffins, cereals, and fresh fruits, and an abundance of coffee. We would recommend this home to any first time visitors to New Orleans and we would return here if visiting again.
Staying at La Maison Marigny Bed & Breakfast is like staying with dear friends. From upon your arrival and throughout your stay, you are made to feel at home.
John is a great conversationalist and takes a genuine interest in you and your visit to the city, making sure your experience is all you want and hoped for.
Each morning the warm delicious scents of homemade bakery waffle through the home gently awakening you.
The B&B is ideally located in a quaint neighborhood full of eclectic restaurants and clubs; yet walking distance to the French Market, Jackson Square and many other attractions.
This is a "Must Stay Bed and Breakfast"!
My wife and I went for an extended weekend getaway to the Big Easy, and we were very glad to have stayed here! This is a great location on the far end of Bourbon Street, where the immediate area is residential and quiet, but the hot spots on Bourbon and Frenchman streets are only a short walk away.
Our host John kept in close email contact with us before our departure, and obviously has a keen eye for detail when it comes to making sure his guests are well taken care of. John greeted us upon our arrival with a map that listed not only the major attractions, but also his bar & restaurant recommendations (they were spot on!). On the 1 day that showers threatened, John had a bunch of umbrellas ready for our use. He was always quick to answer questions & provide advice on things to see and do in New Orleans.
There was a small breakfast provided each morning with various cereals, fruit, muffins, pastries and/or yogurt. It was just enough to fortify you for the long day of sightseeing that lay ahead! Juice, soda and bottled water were also always available in the fridge.
Our room on the 1st floor was very nicely decorated, spacious, clean and comfortable. There were assorted tour guide books & pamphlets available for our reading pleasure. There was cable TV, as well as a CD & a DVD player with various CD's & DVD's available for our enjoyment. To top it off, they also have internet access if you feel like checking your email or looking up a website. As a result, we were able to go online prior to our departure to check in with our airline. We printed out our boarding passes before we even left for the airport!
All in all I would highly recommend this establishment, and my wife and I are looking forward to returning again very soon!
We just returned from 3 night stay. We woke each morning to hot coffee, warm danish and good suggestions on dining, music and parades from John (the host). John was there to meet us with umbrellas upon arrival and made himself available throughout the stay without being intrusive.
The downstairs suite was spacious and well decorated. It is obvious that the owners take pride in assuring their guests are comfortable. The Maison Marigny is close enough to Bourbon street to walk to the fun quickly, but far enough away to sleep at night.
We look forward to making this an annual trip.
