We thought if we book by Werner lau dive center that it would be necessary to stay in the Pondok resort. Well this is not necessary and around there are better hotel options. The houses/ bungalows are old and need renovation and the atmosphere is comparable with other hotels we visited cheap and old fashioned.
The restaurant FOOD is good but the chairs and tables are dirty and glue. Without a towel I will not sit down. The old tree is beautiful and it needs not a lot to make the resort more comfortable and Bali style.
The garden and the pool is beautiful and well covered. My recommendation to stay is Taman Sari next door.

The service and accomodation is true to Balinese traditions with a laid back atmosphere, this place is one of the least untouched environments with snorkelling any turtle rehabilitation on the coast and lest tourists from its well known sister locations. Highly recommend, all the staff and locals here are amazing and will be sure to accomodate.

Stayed here for 5 nights and it really is a beautiful resort. The rooms are superb and cleaned thoroughly everyday. The staff were all friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was included and was cooked to order each morning. I would happily stay here again.

The Pondok Sari is probably one of the prettier hotels in the Gerokgak area (West Bali).

The architecture is truly unique, and each building originated from a part of Indonesia and was brought here and reconstructed. Each building is unique, and amazing touches are found throughout the hotel, such as Art Deco artifacts (see photos).

The small wooden buildings are set in the most luscious tropical garden, it, was like Eden.

The swimming pool is truly idilyc, a dreamy Buddhist place, gorgeous!

This hotel enjoys a large black sand beach, with many lounges. Drinks can be ordered.

We had a double, with a sitting area, and and outdoor terrace. All rooms are air conditioned.
Our little bungalow had an outdoor shower (very private). The beds are a bit hard, but acceptable.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. On arrival, we found flower petals on the bed and a small welcome note.

The room was serviced daily and it was very clean.

In spite of the fact that the entire place is beautifully crafted, age is beginning to show, and some renovations may be necessary.

The food is served in an open, large restaurant/bar. The value for money is good, and the food is tasty.

Oh, yes, the hotel has a dive center. The snorkeling right off the beach is decent.

Recommended.
